Hi guys,
As some of you may know, I am in thailand, phangan, at the moment. There is some stray animals here, mostly dogs, real aggresive ones. I found this black little, starved stray kitten today and something inside me just said I couldn't leave without taking it and helping it. I had been giving it water and it followed me. So I took it on the cap, which, naturally, terrified it, so I arrived at my place in tears from the anger and pain i felt the kitten had gone though. On the way people had laughed at me for taking that kitten and when I arrived, all sopping, the retreatowner just said : "it is just a f***ing cat, what are you wheeping about". That as the owner that told me the other day that he cries when people destroy the earth. It doens't make sense to me that he can be so insensitibe to that kitten.
I wish I could say what exactly I am wheeping about, but I cant tell. It is like I feel all the pain the kitten has felt all its life. Probably having no mom and being starved. But I do not know if I am the overemotionel one? When people tair down the rainforest I want to cry. When people do any kind of violent action to the world I wanna cry.
I tried to give the cat some milk, but it seems like it cant keep food in for long. It is sooo skinny. And it thinks I am its mom, it constantly follows me and wants to lay at me. When that innocent, perfect kitten lays on my lap and looks into my eyes... I get all teared up just writting this.
I have found out that phangan has an animalcare center which I am gonna bring it to tomorrow since I am going home sunday.. I know they will take care of it, it is a voluenteer center made by vegans.
Am I all oversensitive?

I'm sure that the cat you met wouldn't think so.
I wish that everyone in the world cared about the Earth as much as you and the rest of us do. Can you dream up a better future than a world where everyone had a deep respect for life? I can't. The more people like you there in the world the better off EVERYONE is regardless of whether they are a human being, a tree tree in the rain forest, or a stray cat in Thailand.
Permalink Reply by Myca on March 23, 2012 at 12:04am No, you are very kind. There are a lot of people who hate cats. I have no idea why. These same people may love other animals but may hate cats to the point that they kill them. Enjoy your kitty.

~ six bee's, (looked like their first day flying) where drowning in a water bucket at work. so i pulled them out and put them on the grass, in the sun. i got more than a little stick for this at work, (builder). how could it be a bad thing to help another living being in anyway? :) ...and if i happen to take a little stick from the psychotic minded masses, so 'bee' it! ;)

I'm sitting here in front of my laptop and crying too... your post touched me so much!! I wished there were more people on this planet who had such a big heart as you have!!!! We have a little animal shelter here too and save dogs and cats from Serbia, Slovakia etc.. it hurts me always so much how unbelievable cruel people can be, it's so sad.. :(
I don't think that you are oversensitive at all, you have just A WONDERFUL HEART, really.. I'm feeling very much with you and I would have done exactly the same. If Thailand was not so far away I would have said I take the kitty :o) I hope she will be fine and find one day a family that gives her all the loves she deserves!
Ps: I even can't keep on walking if I see an earthworm lying in the sun on the street.. i have to put him into the gras ;))

Permalink Reply by Chris Randall on March 25, 2012 at 12:31am Sometimes I notice that all the people around me are just doing so much wrong in the world it's hard to even comprehend. Sometimes it begs the question, "Is it really worth it?"
Moments like you experienced there, the incredible feelings of joy I get when I genuinely smile at someone walking by and they genuinely smile back, and knowing that you truly are doing what's right by yourself, the planet, and every being you come in contact with inevitably makes the answer to the former question, "Yep!"
:)

Haha Jacob I had a cockroach in my room, it was really nice company I had some chats with it. If someone saw that I bet the would have admitted me to the mentalhouse.
