30 Bananas a Day!

Should I refrigerate berries?

And while I'm asking, what fruits (if any) should I keep cold?

Thanks!

I can only share my experience. There were 2 situations when I refrigerated them :

1. ) For winter time. I bought berries last summer when they were in season, more than 10 kg/22lbs, put them in the refrigerator and enjoyed them all winter long in smoothies/ice creams.  They kept their flavor well for the first 6 months, but now I have like 1 pound left of them, and they are no longer tasty.

2.) For ice cream / sorbet I wanted to make.

Otherwise, I enjoy my fruit fresh, in season. If I wanted to keep fruit that is ripe - like bananas, I would refrigerate it and then make smoothies/ice cream. Hope this helps. Shortly, I would refrigerate it if I had to, or for ice cream.

I forgot one thing ! I didn't "just" refrigerate them. (talking about berries). Here's easy to understand-method : how to freeze berries useful video . : ) . I would keep cold any fruit is ripe and cannot eat - right now I have ripe bananas in the fridge because I want to eat them this week and don't want them to go bad. Plus you can keep cold any fruit you want ! For example if I cut a watermelon I keep it in the fridge. I remember having very ripe figs last summer - same thing, in the fridge to preserve it. However, you'll see how you like it, have fun !

Thank you.

The video was helpful :)

Thanks.

I better get eating...I bought a lot of berries! :)

hey There Jane!

I put all of my berries in the fridge. to me it seems as if they do not get mold as quickly. especially black berries.

Also, I put my cherries in there as well, i prefer them cold.

Yeah...makes sense :)
