Scroll down this link until you see our unsupported ingredient list. There you'll find the "why" behind why oil is a "don't" here, as you say. You'll see several videos that explain our reasoning quite well.

Somebody just recently posted an oil-free pesto recipe here. Anybody remember where?

Permalink Reply by Teri L on July 13, 2012 at 3:15pm I make a few nice raw pestos that don't use olive oil :)
I have a video/recipe here: http://terileventhalsblog.blogspot.com/2012/06/overt-fat-free-raw-v...
Also, you could try blending up 2 zucchinis, a few leaves of fresh basil, lemon, and spinach (simply add 2 zucchinis to the sauce I made in my video). I really like this one, it tastes great with cucumber noodles! These are low-cal recipes, so please be careful to make sure you are still getting enough calories in if you eat them <3 - you are probably going to need a lot more bananas! :)
Here is a video I watched a while ago that does a good job explaining why olive oil is actually junk food: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GfBKauKVi4M&feature=player_embedded
