I'm in Buenos Aires at the moment.. and there sure are a lot of neighbourhood produce markets but the quality of the produce is pretty bad..
I've been on the road for about 3 months now, Colombia was lovely - lots of choice, ripe, cheap. Brazil was pretty damn great on fruit, veggies not so much
And here.. a bit frustrating actually. Apples and pears are the only things I can find that are ok. Bananas.. kryptonite green and they don't ripen properly. Oranges - I've thrown away so much money on them - it's like they're transported from some far away place and get stale in the process. Romaine - utter disappointment. Tomatoes - horrendous.
No dates to speak of (teeny fancy ridiculously expensive packages).
Yes, I'm in the land of asado..
I'm not gonna cave in and start eating cooked, I'm just.. bummed

I'm in Palermo, but probably moving to San Telmo next week. Not sure how long I'll stay in BsAs overall
there are tons of grocers in Palermo and Belgrano but the produce.. :/
