I love 811! I have heard many stories that 811 has been very helpful to people with diabetes. I have been following 811 (but have been vegan for over a year) on and off for the last year. The past 2 months I have been following 811 to a T other than I would say my fat averages out to 7-8% a day. I have felt great up until about 2 weeks ago...... my sugars have been up and I am not feeling well. I have removed dates from my diet and have been eating more non sweet fruits, berries, apples etc......
Does anyone have any insight???
Thanks!

Nice to hear from someone that has had blood sugar issues. I will try 90/5/5. How long did it take for your sugars to lower??? Is there any fruits you do not eat??
I usually make a great big fruit salad and eat it all day. Today I have grapes, apples, blueberries and mango. Tonight I will eat a big salad with lemon juice and dill on it.
Fats....... I usually only have only fat naturally occurs in fruits and veggies. when I say 7-8% that is a average, not a day, I made a mistake. Once a week I may have half a avocado or some nuts.
Thanks
Paula

Even a few nuts or half an avocado, if followed by fruit too soon afterwards (before fully digested) could cause problems with the sugar. Even if I have overt fats for dinner, I find that eating fruit too early the next morning can still be too soon!
Also for myself too much dried fruit isn't a good thing. Dates are nice for the calories but maybe blended or at least soaked? Another thing about dried fruit is that it takes longer to digest, which requires recalculating the food-combining time issue with fats.
Permalink Reply by Myca on May 9, 2012 at 8:29am I am not really clear here Jesse. What does 'up' mean exactly? Also, when you say you are not feeling well, what are you feeling...exactly? What medications are you taking? Did a doctor tell you that you were pre- diabetic by a doctor? How long ago?
What is your fasting blood sugar range...highest to lowest please?
