Parsley is posionous to pregnant women

Has anyone heard of pregnancy being terminated because of eating parsley?

I had a big salad with a whole bunch of Cilantro in it. I hope I will be ok.

Parsley, in particular the parsley seeds, should be avoided during pregnancy, since the herb may lead to birth defects and abortion. In essence, all the parts of the parsley plant should be considered as a potential danger to the developing fetus

If its poisonous to pregnant women I cant see why its safe to eat when not

It's not poisonous, but it stimulates menstruation - obviously not something you want right now. You have to eat A LOT of it, though. Like drink cups of parsley tea all day for 2 or 3 days. Usually, when women are purposely using it to induce menstruation, they put it inside the vagina as well. And, yes, it works. Putting some in your salad occasionally won't do anything, though.

A friend of mine gave herself an abortion with it. She was only 5 or 6 weeks pregnant (from conception; doctors would say 7 or 8 weeks). Some hippie herbalist gave her instructions on what to do, and it worked exactly like the woman told her it would. She ate lots of parsley - like until her tongue was numb, drank parsley tea, and put a sprig in her vagina. She took it out and put a new one in every few hours or something. On the second day she started having cramps, and on the third day she aborted. She said it was just like a heavy, crampy period.

I was eating a huge parsley and banana salad every day back then, so I did a bunch of research on it. With mild herbs like parsley, abortions usually only happen in the first 8 weeks or so of pregnancy - and again, most people have to go nuts with it. After 8 weeks, herbal abortifacients probably won't cause termination, but some of them could harm the fetus. Usually when birth defects happen, it's because the woman tried to abort in the early, basic developmental weeks of pregnancy, it didn't work, and she continued with the pregnancy anyway.

On a side note, the mother of another friend got pregnant for the third time and felt that something wasn't right. I don't know what she felt exactly. She went to see a native healer and he told her to jump up and down every day for 10 minutes. If the baby was healthy, nothing would happen, but if there was something wrong she'd miscarry. I think it was only a few days or a week or something and she had a miscarriage.

No! That was supposed to reassure you! I meant that if you and the baby are healthy (and you are!), everything will be fine. Stuff like that only happens really early on anyway - you're farther along aren't you? Hahaha - you'd better jsut ignore me from now on, I think.

I still don't understand how there are VEGANS that believe in killing babies ...

So many on this forum are OUTRAGED if some other animal is murdered or tortured in some way but advocate murdering or torturing human animals.
