Hello guys AND girls;)
Me and my sister came up with an idea a few months ago to start promoting low fat raw food diet and this kind of a lifestyle on a bit social level. We decided to move from our country Slovenia to London in October, and open a low fat raw food restaurant there. We see it's a huge problem for most of the people on this kind of a lifestyle, to not to be able to go somwhere with their friends, where they can socialize together, have fun, meet like minded people and enjoy food they eat in everyday life.
I know I know… there are already raw food restaurants, but let's face it! They're YUCK! You cannot find a fruit salad on the menu at all, or if by any chance you can, the fruit is unripe and covered all over with honey and agave and all sorts of nasty stuff. Oh and let's don't even begin with smoothies… Let's just say: nuts here, nuts there, nuts EVERYWHERE! This kind of restaurants are only missleading people, that are trying to get their health back and at the same time enjoy in good food. So it's time we fight back hard!
It't very good to promote low fat raw food by writting blogs, books, making movies, having seminars etc. This has changed a life of a loooooot of people, including mine and my sister´s. But we feel it's time to step a little higher and give a chance to broader spectrum of people to meet this diet and reconsider this: our actions do have a huge impact on our health, others and the entire planet.
So this is serious! We have a whole concept already written down on paper. It´s awesome. This will be much more than just a restaurant. It will be a place where people won't just enjoy in a culinaric experience of beautyfull fruity and veggie kingdom, but where they will also be able to socialize, educate themselves about nutrition, permaculture, environmental issues and all kinds of stuff, and most importantly have fun and relaaax from this crazy crazy pace of the world.
But the best thing has yet to come! We wanna bring down Mc'Donnalds and open this kind of a restaurant all over the world! Also with a big profit in mind- but this time the biggest profit there is in the whole wide world- health of people!!!
We cannot do this by ourselves and are inittially searching a "dream team" of 8 people. There are already 3 of us, as our dear friend Marina Grubić has decided to join us, so we will need 5 more people, or maybe more. You know… bigger group of people than just three, can do a lot more, especially with different kind of background and knowledge;)
We would like to form a diverse group of people, with each being a specialist on its own area.
So here is some knowledge that would come in handy:
- someone with great knowledge of permaculture,
- medical doctor or someone dealing with this type of area
- someone envolved in multimedia production, photography, moviemaking and this kind of stuff
- someone with knowledge and experince in the field of green technologies
- someone that is athlete and has knowledge about exercising, fitness, kalistenics and sports physiology
-someone with great passion for estetically preparing low fat raw food dishes
Besides that we would like to see aboard people that are already practising this diet and are absolutely sure that this kind of a lifestyle is a way to go for all the humankind.
Sooo, if you have any of these kind of knowledge, such a strong vision and passion of creating a better world as we do, and would like to join us, considering you ARE BEING TOTTALLY SERIOUS ABOUT THIS, please write us an email. (cojzbaron@gmail.com) We will contact you and tell you all the details.
Oh and remember it will be first opened in London, so if you're not from there, have in mind that you will have to move;)
Thank you very much for taking the time to read this!
I guarantee you this will be the best ride of your life :D
Wishing you all very lovely, fruity and peacefull day!:)
Kisses,
Žiga, Živa and Marina

Permalink Reply by Ashleigh on June 6, 2012 at 11:33am Hey, I know it sounds like you're locked on London, but from a sustainable perspective, maybe there are places where it would go over better? Southern California for one. Florida as well. Places where it will be warm year round and more palatable to the public that way.
Also, think of a cool concept that will appeal to everyone, not just hcrv people. Like maybe a build your own fruit salad bar, similar to the places that have yogurt toppings now where you build your own and charge on weight!

Permalink Reply by Karen on June 8, 2012 at 4:11pm It's hard to immigrate to the States. We use a lottery system. Sounds like the UK is easier to move to.

I like Ashleigh's idea about the build your own fruit salad bar too. :) Salad bars are where it's at!!!

Permalink Reply by karen enriquez lopez on June 6, 2012 at 4:09pm Wow.... that is also my dream... but in México.... I'm studying a degree in gastronomy... I will finish it the next year.... and I want to open a raw vegan (low fat) restaurant! I would love to help you .. but first I have to finish my degree, anyway one of my four-month period in the school I have to do my social services in a restaurant or hotel and we have the option of going to an other contry ... we should keep in touch so maybe I could go to your restaurant and help you for free... i could learn a lot and maybe the next RVLF restaurant in future could be in Mexico!!
Best wishes... and never give up to your dreams!
