When it comes to meal planning, has anyone mastered quick & easy ways to prepare meals at least 5 days in advance for the week.
I found myself exhausted yesterday coming from work, and it was quite tempting for me to reach for junk food.
I'll even take quick snack suggestions, because yesterday, I found myself out of calorie-dense foods, and my bananas weren't ripe enough to suffice me. I had a lot of nuts prior.
Any tips?
Any referrals?

My tip for you is to always have bananas or dates available, wanting junk food is only the mind playing tricks with you!
I try to always have fresh fruit + dates around just in case, stack up!! Fruit is simple, no prep time needed!

Permalink Reply by Christian on September 8, 2012 at 5:33am buy a couple of days more than you need when they are ripe peel and freeze them. I have about 3 days of frozen bananas and just keep using them and top them up that way i dont go hungry and no food is wasted.

I have not mastered preparing meals for 5 days in advance, but rather 2 days ahead of time.
I make a few salads and place them in glass bowls with lids to store in the veg tray of refrigerator. When I get home from work, I'll set it out on the table to get to room temperature while preparing dinner for my family.
Also, I always keep bowls and bowls of fruit out on my dining room table - peaches, plums, plumcots, mangos, bananas, apples and oranges. This way, I can just grab and eat while performing household tasks. If I'm really tired, I'll sit down and rest with a bag of grapes, dried prunes, cherries, or dates. This way I'm not starving before eating my salad.
I hope this helps you in some way.

@Christian - Yes, frozen and fresh bananas are a great tip. I've done this before, but haven't been consistent.
@Peter Csere - Now, I feel a bit guilty for passing up dates this week. Well, it's all experience, since I'm transitioning.
