Please note, I myself have not yet tried it with celery... but I can definitely see how a little celery saltiness would be great in there :)

haha it is exciting isn't it?!! Darn yes I thought you knew! Although its not best food combining I actually enjoy a little OJ with DateOrade - its like Jaffa

I had been told, but I did not understand ;) I can see the acid from the OJ tasting good with it ;)

I should probably add more water next time as well... as my result was a bit on the thick side ( 1.5 lb (0.68 kg) of dates in the Vitamix plus enough water to cover them... I only managed to finish about 2/3 of it).

oh yeh I don't like it thick and gluggy, I put a fair bit of water in , like covering the dates by a good few inches

Are the dates that are found in most stores considered raw? I'm not sure what is involved to dry a date? Do you buy the sun dried ones? The only ones around here are the dried ones. I'm not sure if they are dried in the sun? Thanks

I will check to see what the package says next time. Are the Californian medjool dates dried? I just wasn't sure if I should be looking for the words "raw" or not? Thanks

Just do not buy dates that have been pitted, because more than likely they have been heat treated

exactly!  I have tested the pitted dates and they are not raw, no bubbles.  The dates with pits in the store have tested raw every time with bubbles.  To test yourself put hydrogen peroxide in a glass with a bit of date, if it bubbles, it's got live enzymes and is raw.

 

I suppose that means date paste will not be raw either :(  Darn I was hoping a machine could do the pitting for me.  Pitting or not, dates are little miracles aren't they?
