30 Bananas a Day!

Hey guys I'm curious....I use raw coconut oil for my lotion. I have dry skin, especially in the winter! I know that whatever goes on the skin enters the blood stream, is this going to effect the 10% fat intake? I want to keep my skin care natural, any suggestions??

Thanks!!! xx

Well, the thing is,every person is different, some may be more susceptible to skin issues than others even from things like environmental pollution, from my limited experience 'one size does not fit all',and,,btw, whats in the organic body scrub?.Another thing is most town and city water has been chemically treated and contains chlorine and flouride, combined with hot water that most shower or bath in,no wonder some with more sensitive skin may have problems.

Agree with you Jimmy, not only our skin but when we inhale the vapor, maybe thats another reason so many of us have asthma. I tried this out for about a month, and i noticed that my asthma went down.  I would bath with filtered water. Im a lil lazy now, i dont bath with filter water anymore but i still do wash my hair with filtered water.

Great discussion everyone, thank you for your feedback!

Thanks for asking this question, its maken me think more on what im putting on my body.

I do not subscribe to the whole "whatever you put on your skin enters the bloodstream" thing. It is true for some things but not fats and oils. From personal experience when I put oils on my skin they remain for at least the next 48 hours, the majority of it ends up rubbing off onto my clothes :/
Exactly. Oil molecules are too big to pass through the space between skin cells. Oil only comes out of your skin via the pores, which are one-way valves. Solvents and chemicals in common soaps and other body products are what warrants worrying about.

Some oils do, some don't.  Essential oils do, obviously.  So does coconut oil:

what about make up? i worry about that. what do you women do out there? just go without? i don't wear tons of make up, but i sure wouldn't want to NOT wear it. and i'm addicted to chap stick. maybe i could substitute coconut oil for that. i just put coconut oil on my body after my shower lastnight and my skin still feels soft. :)

Just go without please! You're more attractive without it! Chapstick IS addictive - it causes the lips to dry and need more, vicious cycle. You can google for more info on this. Coconut oil is a good way to break it but simply keep your body hydrated through proper diet and water and you won't even need that!

good idea about the water. i'm pretty good with my water intake and honestly haven't felt the need for chap stick as much. but wow, makes you wonder about alot of these companies. they WANT their stuff to be addicting cuz that makes them money. they don't care about you. and i feel like i could go without a lot of my make up (except mascara and that probably doesn't hurt you anyway). but my skin is pale and i am also 44 years old. lol. i feel like all young women certainly don't need make up, they have such great skin. maybe my skin tone will get better the longer i'm on the HCRV diet. and i plan for this to be a lifetime change. but it's nice to get a guys opinion about make up....so thanks for the input. :) us girls wonder how guys view it.
