Dear all,
I have been high raw since Jan 2011 and trying to go 100% since about 2 months ago. I keep failing, going for 5/6 days then going back to high fat cooked for a day or two (its normally no more than 2 cooked meals over the two days).
Thanks to the high carb and high fat combo Ive put on a few pounds (around 8lb) and have cellulite on my stomach which I never had before. So annoying! When I do it properly I feel really good and feel like I loose weight also immediately - but I've never gone longer than 6 days so I never really move forward.
So after 2 months I am beginning to feel like I'll never make it. These last few days I have felt that I dont even want to keep doing raw (although I am actually still keeping to it), even when I feel good. I used to be so positive even when falling off wagon.
What do you do when you have all the info, you have the bananas but you simply dont want to eat them anymore?!
I dont want to go back to 100% cooked EVER but dont want to put on anymore weight either.
Low fat and no salt cooked food is not appealing either! My weakness at the moment is toasted bread rolls with fresh tomatos, basil, olive oil and salt - I know terrible! LOL
Any advice would be welcome!
Celia

Lately I've been really enjoying mono meals of black seedless grapes. They're sweet too, but for some reason they hit the spot for me. Hang in there! The longer you go, the easier it will get and as you start to really see and feel the benefits of eating this way it will really add encouragement!

I feel your struggle. We are a family of six and at the end of month two as well !! We still eat one meal of beans and rice per day the rest is RAW and mostly organic. We have ZERO added fats and we cannot echo the fat craving sentiment. I think it is possible if you went to bread and oil that you simply are not eating enough? To remedy this we eat dates, I haven't had a craving yet that a few handfuls of dates wouldn't remedy.
Wish you the best!
Eric

I was high raw for 6 months before I could even go one day 100% raw (due to undereating on fruit) but I still felt great (during the day) and saw lots of benefits. After about the 4 month mark of high raw I didnt see an advancement in these improvements so I guessed it was my body telling me to turn raw up a notch!

Permalink Reply by Eric Wagner on November 15, 2011 at 4:16am Sorry so late. Still eating same way. The benefit for me so far is energy to take on what I need to do without feeling the urge for naps. I also don't have reflux now. That is a biggy because reflux sucks. I am 37 and I look younger now than my 31 yr old brother.
The big deal for me is there is no heart disease for vegans who go no refined, no oils etc.. There is no diabetes for us, no hypertension etc. Sure I might have to kick it up a notch sometime and when that gets here I have a wonderful place to learn from wonderful people!
Permalink Reply by Celia C (Ana) on November 8, 2011 at 5:44am You are totally right, as is Mark. I think I was getting really bored of bananas - it was almost all I ate for a while, no wonder I was fed up!
I've recently started to eat more mangos, pineapples, apples, apricots and peaches which are now in season where I live and this has made a significant difference to my interest in raw.
I'm still struggling but I at least I'm still learning - variety is key to raw success.
Thanks!

Thats why when people go 811 they pee like crazy for a few days/weeks until their body has dropped a lot of the sodium retention. Same when they go back on salt, they store lots of salt fluid.
Weight loss industry NEVER talks about 'salt fat' cos they want you to keep starving then binging and looking for that perfect programme where you can eat crap all day and sloth on the couch cos you feel so crap yet 'look amazing in 15 minutes! GUARANTEED!' lol!
