30 Bananas a Day!

Hi everyone!

I haven't had any overt fats for about 7 months - and I feel wonderful. :)

I was wondering if anyone else is doing this? And your thoughts on it?

I haven't tried it, but lots of people here recommend it. What specific benefits would you attribute to going overt-free? I need a little motivation ;)

Adi, I experienced better digestion, increased energy, and body fat % loss after cutting out overts :). I feel in general lighter and better able to workout/run. I remember feeling heavy and sluggish after eating too many overt fats, especially nuts and seeds. And the best part is I get to eat more fruit!

Bmoojeni, I think I'm lucky in that I could never pick out a good avocado to save my life before I cut out overts! lol :)

I really want better digestion & clearer skin, but I'm worried about losing body fat % :/

I love avocados too, but I don't think they'd be that hard to give up if I decided to.

Haven't had overts for probably 5 months. Every time I have avocado I would have rather had more bananas or something. I don't miss it. I wonder if we need overts once in a while or we r good overt free??

I asked Dr. D and he said we're good overt free :)

I eat a lot of zucchini (which is actually about 16% fat) and greens, so my fat % is usually near 7-8%, I'd like to get it more like 5% and try out 955

I don't eat overt fat either. I transitioned to lfrv (from goumet raw) 2 months ago. I used to have the tendency to overeat on nuts and I was afraid that I was going to have a hard time to do portion control to keep the fat under 10%, so I've decided to cut out nuts entirely. This way I don't have to worry about my calorie ratio. I feel good (but I sill have cooked food cravings which I didn't experience during my gourmet raw stage)

When I went off overts during my transition, I recieved harsh sinusitis and migraine pounding headaches.

Thinking maybe it would go away once I start eating them by A LITTLE bit, I added some, and it became like a pandoras box and my sinusitis went away.

I really think this was an effect of major detoxification I experienced because I went from SAD to 100% lfrv overnight but before, when not cutting out overts, I didn't experience any adverse reactions.

 

I'm so glad this discussion was started! I was going to post something about this...

 

I have been eating 100% raw for 28 days now  (vegetarian with vegan tendencies before that.)  I started off 811 but to incorporate more veggies, I began eating tossed green salads with avocado... every day....which slowly increased to 2 avocados because I would eat most of one while preparing the salad. I tried buying one avocado at a time to keep myself from eating more but then it just became a nuisance running to the store EVERY DAY.

Well before I knew it, I was buying raw nuts and raw almond butter... and that's pretty much where I am at right now. I completely see and feel the difference now. Not only is my energy at an all time low, but also my mood just sucks! I don't know if its actually the fat or the fact that I can't seem to break away from this phase and go back to 811, and I'm beating myself up for it. I don't even have the motivation or strength to exercise. The first half of the month I was running 6 miles 4 times a week and strength training... now I am just so tired all the time. I had goals to look a certain way this summer (I am 15 pounds heavier than this time last year.... after I saw the number I put the scale in a very far away place.)  I also wanted my skin to clear up, which it started to, but now I am breaking out again. My cellulite still has a mind of its own. Today I looked in the mirror and I - for a minute - gave up on myself. But I don't want to because I remember how great I felt even after just one week on 811....

 

So yea, it's really nice to hear that I am not the only person having a hard time with over-free eating. It's kind of like salt.... the beginning is tough but the longer you go without it, the less you crave it. But if you introduce it to your body again, your body will crave it again and the process starts over. I know celery or tomatoes, for example, are recommended to satisfy a salt craving.... but what can satisfy a FAT craving???

 

 

 

 

 

I'm not sure if this will work for you, but when I first went overt free, I basically had to triple the volume of food I was consuming ~ it was a hard adjustment at first, I had to make A LOT of smoothies :) ~ but as long as I was eating enough fruits and veggies, I didn't crave the fat. And if I got hungry, I'd crave the fat again.
I know what works for me is DATES! They taste SUPER FATTY like CAKE to me, and they're only 1% fat, it's CRAZY!!
