30 Bananas a Day!

The day before yesterday I planned to eat 4 kg kiwis, but after I ate 7 or 8 kiwis my tongue started burning, feeling swollen, and looked like it was bleeding the sinds of my mouth (especially by the upper lip became puffy) - whether with or without the skin. I've always eaten kiwis with the skins by the way (perhaps controversial?), but I am open to constructive criticism on that. Although I was annoyed that I had to change my plan with a kiwi-mono-meal, I managed to save myself with grapes and pears although I would have wanted to eat one or the other because I strive to eat mono-meals because I feel the best then.

I'm also familiar with the different kinds of fruits - sweet, non-sweet, sour, and half-sour. That is the first time I've ever had such an experience with kiwis. Before I went 811, I've always eaten them (with skin) without any problems. I even ate as much as 8 in one sitting at the time. Though I am either allergic or highly sensitive to just about every kind of citrus-fruit (as much as I love them). I may see how I do with pineapple, since it's one of the sour fruits. I want to inform myself as much as I can, but I can imagine sour fruits can't be consumed by some people (at least not in large quantities because of it's acidic degree). DO correct me though if I'm wrong. I'm thankful for every bit of advice. :)

On another topic, I'd really like to know what one can use as a raw vegan remedy for chapped lips. I'm thankful for all tips on this matter as well. :)

Peace, love, fruits, and greens. :)

Eheheh I also eat kiwis with the skin sometimes :D

That never happened to me though.

But it has happened with pineapple. I read here that it never rippens enough unless you're in a country where they're natural from. Otherwise they stay too acidic and cause problems.

I love kiwis and 4kg of them seems an appetizing meal! But maybe they weren't ripe enough? They have to be really soft.

Felícia, I smile every time when I see that we have common "quirks". ;)

Thanks for the tip about the pineapple. That could also be that the kiwis weren't ripe enough, though I did try to make sure that they were ripe before eating them. But it's likely that they weren't soft enough. :-/

Nevertheless, thank you for the feedback. :)

This happened to me the other day as well. My guess was that the kiwis just hadn't ripened properly..even though they were soft.

I'm sorry to hear that that happened to you too Craig. It's a terrible feeling, isn't it? I hope you're feeling better though.

As for the chapped lips drink water, tons of water.

Kiwi issue:  are you eating ORGANIC?????  This is the issue if you are not.  We aren't allergic to the food, we are allergic to what commercial growers use to grow the food in most cases.  If you are a sted fast eater of only organic then I'd take the skin off my dear.

Also, any allergic reaction is simply a strong detox reaction.  Have you done a water fast at a retreat specifically yet or a 60 or 92 day juice feast which is what I am ending on Sunday?  You must feed the body, which 811 does and then you need to deep cleanse on a detox.

I can't afford organic and I'm not the only one hear who can't.

Water drinking is not a problem, I drink at least 2 liters a day since I went 811.

I am ABSOLUTELY against fasting - at least for me - even though I'm 9 years "clean" from anorexia, I am convinced that fasting is absolutely not for people with that background.

Though I do plan at some point to go for a trip on Date Island or Mango Island. Unfortunately I'm not able to eat bananas because I have trouble with the texture. Though in the past I've eaten frozen bananas (of course with nothing else added), but I have quit because I'm not sure if that's a good thing to do because I've heard mixed messages about it...

Kiwis can affect me that way as well. Even the organic ones.

I think that it has to do with how ripe they are, much like pineapples.

I have not been able to find organic golden kiwis, but I'm told that they are less acidic, so it might be worth it to try and locate some & give them a try.

Hi Sultana. :)

I've seen conventional golden kiwis (exported from New Zealand), but I'll think about it, especially if they are significantly less acidic. Though if you give them a try, feel free to let me know. :)
