30 Bananas a Day!

Hey guise.  I am not a huge fan of veggies raw..when I was on a cooked diet I enjoyed them very much, however some I can stand raw.  I am looking for some recipes that will tone down some of the tastes I dont like as much.

what I dont mind:
leafy greens like spinach or lettuce etc
carrots
cucumber
zucchini

as for the rest I pretty much dont find them very appealing..i can eat a few tiny pieces here and there but to make a meal out of it would not be fun.

tomatoes
celery
cauliflower
peppers

maybe theres some veggie i am forgetting..but i probably dont like it too much.
does anyone have any recipes that are half fruit half veggie, either a salad or soup of some sort.

i dont mind salads, i need some dressing ideas though.

i know wrapping salads around a date is yummy:P

anyway..thanks

Green smoothies are a great way to get more greens in. My favourite:
5 large bananas
4 large nectarines
4 large dates
4 cups greens
1L water

Green puddings are also delicious! A good recipe is...
Fill your blender with equal parts mango and chard. Add a little water and blend. Eat it with a spoon. Yum!

My old favourite salad recipe:
A few cups of greens (romaine, butter lettuce, green leaf, red leaf, spinach...etc)
1/2 to 1 organic cucumber cut in chunks
Shredded carrot

Strawberry shortcake dressing:
1/2 avocado
6 large strawberries
2.5 dates
juice from 1/2 lime.
-Blend and serve over greens, cucumber and shredded carrot.
i do make smoothies a lot so i should try adding some different greens to them i spose
I think smoothies are the best way to get greens in. You can do it midday and then have a smaller salad for dinner.

My Favorite Ninja Smoothie:
As much mango as you can get your hands on, 9 oz of spinach, and a sliver of avocado. You won't even know how many greens you just ate. I've fooled my carnivorous friends and family with this one because the spinach is virtually tasteless. It's like magic!!! It's all mango with a cool green color and an extra creamy texture.

Works the same with bananas too.

Also snacking on celery from time to time helps. Remember, you want to keep a ratio of greens so that you get your minerals in. If you skip them once a week or so I don't think you'll die.

Dr Graham recommends 2% of your daily caloric intake be from greens. If you're eating 2500 calories that's only 50 calories so it's really not that overwhelming. If you're eating more than that it's just a few more calories. That's like a bag of spinach, or 8 stalks of celery, or 5 baby bok choys, or a couple of small salads.

Sometimes I'll measure out a pound or so of various greens in the morning on a food scale and put them in a bowl. Then it's my goal to snack on them and incorporate them in meals throughout the day. I'm very active so I'm not willing to chance not getting my minerals in.

You just have to find a system that works for you. Your taste buds eventually change the longer you do it. Hell, when I first started I wasn't very fond of certain greens either. Now I like romaine so much I just take the whole thing, peel off a few of the hard outer leaves, roll it up, and eat it like a hot dog.

Hope this helps

:)
i love chimp burgers (dates wrapped in lettuce) :)
i have been eating those the past few days:P use either lettuce or spinach or some leafy green. i actually like leafy greens, its many other veggies i dont quite like:P
chimp burgers, i like that. i fold up the romaine around the date and it looks like a stuffed grape leaf so that is what i have been calling them, delicious either way
i know some are fruits, 3 i can count..i guess the 4th would be the peppers. i just consider them veggies because they are non-sweet. i dont know if they contain the same types of nutrients as fruit does, or if they have more of the things that veggies have.

i just need a way to make sure i am getting the nutrients i need from the things that taste horrible:P
My tastes have become more basic the longer I'm on 811, so one of my fav combinations is farmers market red leaf lettuce wrapped around baby heirloom toms in one hand and a crisp cucumber in the other hand, alternating bites back and forth. I actually now have serious cravings for this delicious mix of flavors/textures. The main thing is to get the freshest local produce--outtasight!
i dont mind the taste of tomato..i like it. i mind the mushy gooeyness.. bleh
