Has anyone else had lots of challenge with nausea when eating certain foods? Foods that you normally love, that on most days you can "smash 'em in" if you will... but every now and then something in your body just says "NO", in a way of "i'm going to get sick if I force myself to take one more bite even though I've only had two bananas."
This happens occasionally with me, and it's just frustrating when finances are tight at the end of the month and that's all I have to eat (that's fruit/raw/811...). It makes transitioning difficult when you have to start over every month or week. And I know, it's not failing, that's not what I am saying here. I am saying that it sets digestion on a rabbit trail with a project to clean up, leaving my energy and belly-bloat in sub-par conditions. I don't know. Maybe I'm making a bigger deal about it than I should... it would just be nice to know if it were something with the fruit or juice I'm drinking, when I'm sleeping, something my body is going through in detox, whatever. I felt fine later consuming some wheat rolls and potatoes and condiments (I know, the condiments were an unnecessary choice on my part). I know it's not the worst thing in the world if you're not 100% raw, having some cooked low fat starches from time to time, but I really feel like it holds me back having to include them.
Thanks for any suggestions or support from those who have had similar experiences. Peace and love. :)

For sure symptoms of your body transitioning, remember that these foods are all physically addicting. It is really hard tho, i did such a yo yo transition and i wouldn't wish that upon anyone. It is all mind over matter tho! These feelings are body urges that have a direct link to your mind, try to be aware that this is a complete re-programming. You should try n throw a lil cinnamon on the banana or fresh ground vanilla, possible way to get the taste buds more interested.
Peace my friend :)

It will be awesome one day in the future when there has been more research done documenting the experiences and details of detox, or at least that what research has been done will be more commonly known. good reminders.
i suppose it might be better to just ride out the feelings of nausea until I can stand to eat raw fruits again rather than turn to other cooked foods prematurely... the mind game here was how so much emphasis here on this site is put on getting enough calories, and I know how for myself in the past if I didn't eat enough earlier in the day I would run into a laundry list of challenges at night.
thanks for the chill pill :)
Permalink Reply by Agnes on May 1, 2012 at 4:32am I transitioned into raw foods almost three weeks ago, 100%. Before that I did a month of 80% raw. Yesterday however, I got such a bad cramp. The only thing I ate was dates with water. I assumed this was some type of detox, but the cramp was so bad!! It felt like I couldn't breathe because my stomach got so tight. If anything your body is going through detox! Nausea can be a sure sign of detox, imo.
Permalink Reply by Maaike Niethot on May 1, 2012 at 4:52am a few weeks agoo i was on banana island.... early in the morning my belly was hurting, bloated like it was gonna explode and i had to go to the toilet every 5 minutes... it felt like i had to do a nr. 2 but it wan't coming.. i did had a lot of gas..but in my bed it couldn´t get away..so i felt horrible.. i hoped to get some sleep but when i would not go to the toilet to release the gas my stomache felt really painful and i became nauseau... then i went out of bed and wasn't feeling good the whole day.. i didn't eat for a long time..and after i fel asleep on the couch i got better... I didn't think of detox... it was more something like stomacheflue.. but i knew it wasn't. A few days later i got some new bananas from the store and then it came to me that the nanas i was eating before i felt sick...did not taste as good as my fresh ones.. I think they were overripe (and causing a lot of problems in my stomache)!!
So after a long story told... could this be one of your problems??
and..do you think my feeling sick was detox???
Permalink Reply by Jennie_Raw on May 1, 2012 at 11:01am ooo! what a terrible experience. Sorry Maaike.
i am starting to think that it was probably a detox symptom, however I cannot be sure at this point. But I am glad you brought up the point about bananas being overripe. This could most certainly been a part of the equation yesterday. The weather is getting much warmer where I am, and I am still storing bananas in my car while I'm at work and driving around and so forth... this accelerates the ripening process dramatically when it's mid-eighties outside! I can't say if the overripe fruit made me nauseated, or if it just irritated me in my nauseous state. Either way, it's encouraging to know that I may be able to continue eating them without this unpleasant result in the future.
Permalink Reply by Jennie_Raw on May 2, 2012 at 7:51am so this is something that happens for you on a regular basis? and with other fruits? does the feeling persist enough so where you don't really feel like exercising intensely?
sorry many questions. thankyou for your input cloudyknight!
Permalink Reply by Jennie_Raw on August 18, 2012 at 3:44pm thought I should make a follow up on this...
after further experimenting and taking suggestions and advice into consideration, I think a state of detox combined with overripe bananas was the cause for me. This makes sense to me, because detoxing can, for one, make some people feel nauseous as is. And so I must have been extra sensitive to pre-fermented fruit, haha. Also, the fact that simple starches and bread made me feel "better" could be a sign of how those old familiar toxic substances put a halt on the detox process... and lo, when the detox stops, you feel better in the immediate sense... but then of course eventually you will have to sit with all the old stuffy symptoms of toxicity and addiction.
Again, only my theory... :)
Since then, I have been much more careful about how long I let them sit in the car when we're havin a heat wave. Yay. thanks to everyone that commented here! this place is a well of continual encouragement when we get overwhelmed in discouragement.
