Ok, so here I am on xmas day after just having a breakfast of only apples and a few dates.
I wouldn't have given this website a thought had I not done this during my pregnancy. Yup, I gave birth to a healthy baby boy on nothing but apples. I also didn't gain more than 20 lbs during my pregnancy. I have no idea why I ate just apples. Was a craving I had with my other pregnancy too. This time it was more pronounced....I would bring a bag of apples and just go to town. I had people tell me it was unhealthy...but I guess that's what my body needed.
After my 4th month I had an intense craving for melons and in Feb I pretty much just ate melons. Towards the end I ate tons of dates....
My midwife told me if I was feeling fine gaining weight appropriately then there was nothing to worry about.
Well, fastforward to now...although I never lost my craving for apples I stopped eating that way. Did a complete 180 from that type of eating. Lost weight but slowly gaining what I lost back. :(
and the past two weeks I have had an intense craving for FRUIT. But I have not given in.
Although what I did give into the past couple days has been cookies, chips.etc. I decided I am going to try and listen to my body. I am pretty sure it wants FRUIT!
Well I have decided to give this type of eating another go round and not just do it when pregnant. If I could live and thrive quite well on just fruit while also supporting a life, I should be able to do it just by supporting me. I ordered the book that's suggested and while I am waiting am reading the forums and trying to get an idea of what to eat.
I am also not an endurance athlete and it seems from what I've read alot of 30 bananas a day members are more endurance type exercisers? I could be wrong though. I am hoping this lifestyle is also good for people who are more into strength training? I used to compete in figure competitions, and still do a lot of weight work. I might do cardio once a week.
so far this is my breakfast - 5 apples, 4 dates.
Yummy and really filling!
I plan to have bananas for lunch. I am also hoping it's ok to eat some greens. I have some broccoli(although from what I've read it causes some digestive problems!) that is about to go bad. But I love broccoli and don't want to waste it so thinking I could eat that for dinner as well as a bunch of grapes.
Does that sound pretty ok for xmas day?

Christmas dinner, has been bananas, oranges and water- but I feel great.
Permalink Reply by Abril on December 26, 2011 at 1:48am Thanks! I am so very full. An odd feeling I am not used to. I read to eat until satieted. And did. Wow. What a feeling. So much better than feeling full on cookies. and even after eating 10 cookies I am still not full. But after eating my apples. Um..no more! I hope I can eat lunch!

Permalink Reply by SatchFan on December 26, 2011 at 2:56am I think once you get the book and have it read and have a better understanding of 811, you will be more mentally ready to stay on this lifestyle. It's good to see your listening to your body and what it's trying to tell you. :)
Make sure you get plenty of calories every day! Sounds like your going to need 3000+ to me.
Happy Discovering and Merry Christmas!

Permalink Reply by Abril on December 27, 2011 at 3:38am well...I was good up until ..ugh dinner.
I had my bananas.
ok..good!
Well, I planned to have my broccoli and grapes. But instead my son said he wanted some grapes. I let him eat all my grapes! Who am I to deny my son fruit?
Well, I didn't have my grapes but still had dates.
So I popped a few in my mouth.
That few turned out to be 80 DATES. They were just so good.
Please tell me this isn't bad. Although I have a feeling it is.
I know dates are calorie laden but since I spent SOO much time in the ...(warning! TMI) bathroom last night... I am assuming at least some of those cals weren't stored!
The whole mono meal thing seems to suit me. I had all those apples. Then bananas....(I had 8)
Then my broccoli and 80 dates! UGH!
This morning I had...umm, 35 dates.
Too much?
HELP!
HAve a craving actually for collard greens and tomatoes. Will have that for lunch.
