Moving to Madrid! Please share what the best wholesalers are, in your estimation

For organic fruit, of course. Any other tips would be awesome.

Also, don't be shy if you live there and want to meet.

I and my partner will be in madrid from 21th of june to 2nd of july, please let us know if you find a good organic wholesaler place. i didn't find yet the times I have been there....

Hi Craig,

I used to live in Madrid, as I have family there - before I found 811 unfortunately!! However, I still appreciated the good fruit & veg there and my cousin (Joaquin Quijada) works for an Organic fruit & veg box scheme. They are based just outside Madrid and grow alot of their veg-the rest of fruit & veg they get from organic growers all around Spain. I'm sure it would be worth you contacting them to ask if they could charge you wholesale prices if you were to buy wholesale. My cousin knows English and you could address the email to him and mention I put you in contact with him (I'm Isabel). Their website is http://ecosecha.blogspot.co.uk/. He may also be able to recommend where you could go for organic fruit & veg.

There is also a wholesale fruit& veg market in Madrid (not sure if they sell organic though). Not sure of location.

There are also lots of good fruit and veg markets in most areas - I used to live in La Latina and there was a really good market there- Plaza de La Cebaza (not sure if they sell organic though). Easy avaliability of Organic produce is still up and coming in Spain.

I'm gonna check the markets out in my first two days there.

Sorry, I don't know any wholesaler in Madrid. I live in Spain but never been to Madrid...

But maybe you'd like to join us for the raw fruit festival in Andalusia in September?

Believe me, I considered it but I'm doubtful that I'll have the cash..and, if I do accumulate enough money then I'm guessing the new problem will be that no spaces remain. I will go if I can.
