30 Bananas a Day!

hey 30BAD, thought i might as well start out a discussion of our monkey bar gym which 100% works with the 30bad plan:)
we call it MBG3 (Monkey Bar Gym 3 is MBG training of skills: running, jumping, climbing and crawling. MBG restoration of Eischens Yoga and MBG nutrition which is 100% plant based as our goal - 811rv is the high goal:)
Each day we have free workouts on our Monkey Bar Gymnasium site:
http://monkeybargym.com/full-body-workouts.html
most of the time they are bodyweight & cable training, sometimes we add kettlebells or d-balls or sandbags or sledgehammers or tires, alot of the time we climb ropes or poles and then we do alot of running hills, stairs, sprints and jumping rope.
we intermix Eischens Yoga into each workout as the base of each and every movement
then to top it all off we eat the best diet in the world:) 100% plants:)
I'd love to see the 30BAD people check out our workouts and tell us how you like them.
We train hard, recover amazingly and eat great!!
join us:) and lets strengthen both our communities and the world:)
your friend,
jon

great discussion guys, we all want this answer:)
well i was at 3,500 cals 811 for about 2-3 months = leaner, good energy, weaker feeling at the 2 month point.
so i bumped it up to 4,500 cals 811 for next 2 months = not as lean, alot of bloating, training dropped again
frustration grew alot and i decided to go back to my old ways of eating (80-90% raw) vegan again with raw nuts, seeds, yams, quinoa and the results has been a return to my max strength, okay energy (not as good as 811) and medium leanness to my body.
the rest and recovery IS HUGE i know this, but running my business and developing inventions for lifeline usa (my families business) i have to imagine adds alot of stress to my life and this hurts energy.
so that is where i stand.
Hey Jon,
Yeah the recovery is crazy its been about 7 months on 811 and I am pretty much even closer to 9/5/5. Heard a world renowned sports physiologist says muscle soreness is due to whether you replace the glycogen stores which is no prob on this diet. By experience I would have to agree pre-811 got sore when pushed hard with sport or with a W.O now I can kill myself with a W.O or sport and feel like I did nothing the next day (which is great for the sport). But Its weird I associated like most that the soreness had to do with rebuilding of the muscle. The only thing now is I workout and it feels like I didn't do anything because I am not sore which is a bit hard psychologically, oddly enough.
Hey Jon
I would not want to go paleo for many reasons.
But I was wondering why there able to gain muscle on a lower calorie count then you would on the 811. Why do the animal product speeds growth is its the protien amino acid content? I don't think we need a lot of protein but we still need some. It seems like you were able to lower your calories and get better results for muscle firmness and strength by adding in a bit higher protein foods (also the fat that could help in producing more testosterone). I don't think the foods you introduced are toxic to the body (nuts and seeds, maybe the beans?) which might cause you to swell a bit. If you don't mind me asking do you have B.O and does you poo smell? that would show a sign of toxicity.
Cool! I read about you guys in Outside a while back, glad to hear you're around and promoting body weight work and plant based nutrition. Rock on!
thanks josh:) glad you like it:)
I thought I would add my experience with MBG. Though I have yet to go to the physical gym (intensive natural trainer certification in august), I have been following the MBG methods and mentality for a couple years now, and daily for close to a year now. As a fairly small individual who has depleted myself through an eating disorder, in an attempt to be healthy, through my training and growth with a strong base in the whole body, whole foods, functional approach of MBG, I now, for the first time in a very long time, feel that I am truly living. I would like to give the deserved credit to Jon and those at MBG for all the work they do, because our health is truly our wealth. I may still not be the biggest guy around, but the confidence that living in a body which is growing truly stronger and healthier, has changed my life, in an amazing way. I encourage everyone to check out the online workouts, go through the progressions, and give yourself another gift of movement. Thank you to Jon, and everyone who read all of this. Have a great day!

¡Bien salud!

Wow, MBG has gone vegan...awesome!

I studied Jui Jitsu at MBG here in Madison for a while. Jon is a VERY skilled trainer who walks the talk-not to mention a very accomplished martial artist too. Anyone who conscientiously uses Jon's workouts and philosophy is going to be in real good shape! He knows how to make people VERY strong and lean; a real expert at building power!
hey greg, thanks for the post! yep we've been promoting a PB diet for almost 6 years now and it is going great! hope you can make it in sometime again:)
