Mark Sisson comments about me on this thread. People have asked him why Im so lean, fit and strong despite eating so much sugar each day. http://www.marksdailyapple.com/why-can-some-people-eat-anything-the...
Says carbs make you fat and when he went on high carb for a week with Dr McDougall says his weight loss was 'pure muscle'. ;) Thats like me saying the broken window was from a fly, not the baseball.
#Mark says carbs make you fat yet he dropped weight after just one week eating McDougall's rice and veg diet.
#Mark has the same photos up on his site for years. At least we use recent ones and we are contactable. I guess when you sell a lot of crap products you dont want to spend time dealing with angry customers!!!
#Mark says that we are all thin cos we train so much. But how does he explain when we stay thin despite periods of low volume training and UNLIMITED carb calorie intake that we eat? How come NONE of the longterm high carb vegans/raw vegans experience weight issues?
#Id like to see Mark's daily diet cos he NEVER makes it objective. He never gives any real guidelines and if you browse his forum, its full of confused crew losing health and fitness.
#The dude claims he is a power athlete but looks more like an endurance athlete. His diet is mean to make you into a bodybuilder but he says its great for getting slim too? I mean Dr Atkins made the same claims with the same diet and died obese and from a heart attack after a fall.
#Mark Sisson's background is working for companies developing supplement formula's and marketing hype. Here is a vid with more info.

Permalink Reply by DURIANRIDER on January 13, 2011 at 10:09pm Fad authors are well aware that women are the main group that focuses on weight loss. They are the main group that appeals to being analysed. So all you have to do is wear a suit, poncho or fancy sweater and tell women that they are from different dosha, blood, hair, bodyshape types and require a special fancy diet. They spew that "wu wu spiritual, makes no sense but makes lots of dollars" bull s***e. Be aware ladies, scammers await you.

Permalink Reply by Jared Six on January 14, 2011 at 4:10am Finally!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been waiting for someone in the health movement who is very anti-fruit to get asked the question...
"But what about the people from 30 bananas a day who seem to have lots and lots of energy? Some of them are even running 100 mile races and doing 24 hour bike races."
And to then respond to this question by saying something like...
"That's what happens when you consume a lot of fruit. Your body literally freaks out from all of that sugar to the point that you have no choice but to run 100 miles a day, peddel your bike for 24 hours stright, or something crazy like that just to burn off all that excess sugar. So stay away from fruit or you'll end up having to enter and possibly win marathons all the time. You don't want that do you?"
I knew that I would hear someone make this rediculous argument about people on here's athletic accompishments eventually but I in my mind I imagined that Brian Celement would be the first one that I actually heard say it.
hahahahahahahahahaha "have to enter and possibly win marathons all the time!" And "cycle endless miles in a valiant-yet-doomed effort to burn off all that sugar." (Sisson)
.. . Where does the doom come in?

I think that paragraph should be framed...I mean, LOL. For some reason, it reminds me of that anti-homosexuality Gathering Storm parody...NO CHOICE. xP Still laughing, just wow. Also, I think he forgot about those of us who DON'T enter marathons or hope to possibly win them all the time. xP

Further down the road we can expect to be at least acknowledged if not engaged by others 'promoting health crappy food and supplements at the expense of true health' The uninformed deserve to made aware there are other dietary options.

Permalink Reply by Laura Schmitt on January 14, 2011 at 5:42am Hi there- I am new to this site and so far I LOVE It. I have to admit that for the past 4 months I have been TRYING to follow Mark Sisson and his "Primal guide" . The operative word here is "trying". I have been eating lots of fat and meat... and feeling like crap!!! I already have no issue with staying away from grains... as I have trouble digesting them... so that part was easy for me.
Mark is basically AGAINST "chronic cardio" and so I felt so bad for my LOVE of running! I run 7 miles a day.... and I have felt so bloated and gross with all that fat and meat in my system. Reading his site made me FEAR carbs.... I know, crazy. But he is really convincing in his writtings that CARBS are what makes you fat... so I stayed away from them!
I finally couldn't take it anymore after weeks of running 40 plus miles every week and suffering through it because my energy levels were so low, and absolutley NO weight loss!! I ventured out trying to find another way of eating that could possibly help me lose the last 10 pounds ( I just had baby #4 in September) and give me energy... eating low carb leave me with NO energy.... my runs were suffering so much!
Last night I had a raw fruit dinner and it was awesome. I felt so electric and alive... and NOT gross and heavy from all the fat and protein I WAS eating. During my run this morning (after my cantelope breakfast) I felt light and full of energy.... 7 miles felt so easy!
Basically I believe people need to find what works for THEM and not trust anyone blindly. I tried Marks program... it didn't work for me. Maybe it works for him.... who knows! All I know is that I am here on this site for a reason.

I like to put it this way. You can eat anything to stay alive but will (anything) make you live life to the Fullest? Put that to the test as YOU have, and you get your answer :)
Cheers :)
