Ah, gotta love Lifehacker. This is the same website that says when you need a boost of energy to drink a pot of coffee and then immediately take a nap so you can wake up when the caffeine kicks in.
Think we had this one twice already, seems to be popular. Aaaand I still wonder what a sugar crash is supposed to be like in real life.
Gotta love broscience blogs. The entire paleo primal low carb movement is based upon broscience blogs.
It's true! That's why we don't eat a few nanners here and there, we eat 10 in a meal, 30 in a day. :P
It's incomplete information, they're basing that on insuline spiking and blood sugar levels. What they don't know is that -yes- carbs WILL make you crash, but not fruit carbs... high GI/ starch carbs/processed food carbs
they don't know the depth of it, they did a "1+1" in their head and said "well, if a cookie has a 70 GI and a banana has a 70 GI and cookies make you crash, therefore, bananas make you crash"
If you see they've put beef as in "no sugar crash" cause there is no sugar in beef, or any type of carb in it, thus it won't spike blood sugar and has a 0 GI,
their thought pattern is clear, it's false though.
Ben, everyone will find stuff like this. LOL It's rubbish of course.
Reality is that body builders inject insulin to increase the anabolic effects insulin has. When one eats low fat/protein then insulin levels drop down and so does body weight. Anyone that says a high carb low fat diet spikes insulin to super high levels needs to look at the body building world of what drugs they take and what they eat and why.
Almost 100% of pro bodybuilders and power athletes inject insulin for its anabolic steroid effects. Yes, its HIGHLY dangerous too! lol!
Lifehacker? That name sucks. Sounds detrimental in itself.
