I order dates from Oasis Date Gardens in California (http://www.oasisdate.com). They're better than any dates I've been able to find in Japan and cheaper too! I'm getting boxes of 105 bananas for 2,300 yen. 10kg of mikan for between 1,500-4,500 yen depending on size/sweetness. 24 Carabao mangoes for 3,200 yen.
What are you eating these days?

At the moment I am getting boxes of mikan for 1700 for about 5kgs. I am getting dates from amazon but they are expensive and not so good. I am buying boxes of bananas for 1800 . I am also buying organic greens from this website online called budoki and tohoku boku. If you want the address let me know. where are you buying your mangoes I would love some of those? Also the dates are they fresh? I think I will buy some! And the mikan and bananas where are you buying them from?
Its so hard in the winter to ripen bananas and i am getting sick of them but trying! I am also buying grapes and juicing them not that often though
Permalink Reply by Andy Cowan on January 24, 2013 at 2:36pm You're still getting grapes up north? Not seen any down here since before Christmas!
I used to order dates from a site based in Japan: http://palmyra-dates.com/ but they were expensive and dry. Tasted decent though.
The store in the U.S. is cheaper, certified organic and juicier! I definitely recommend them: http://www.oasisdate.com/
It would be nice to take a look at the site you get your greens from. I'm growing my own kale and could really do with some decent lettuce for my salads :)
I get all my fruit (except dates) from my local supermarket. Definitely not certified organic :( The mangoes and bananas come from the Philippines. I'm really impressed with the mangoes I'm getting at the moment, really sweet! The supermarket I go to is エッグマート(Egg Mart). Not sure if they're a national chain though.
Permalink Reply by katie on January 24, 2013 at 4:49pm yes I go to m local shimuza しむザ they are a chain. The site is this one which I think is out of greens at the moment except cabbage
