30 Bananas a Day!

Do any of you want cooked food - or even just something you don't normally eat - around the time of your period?  I'd kind of noticed this before, but this month it's crazy!   I've been keeping it at bay (well, mostly - boo!) by eating around 3500 calories - lots more than I usually eat.  Do I actually just need more calories right now, or is it a hormonal craving thing?

No, not TMI at all. That's interesting; thank you. I hope it eventually gets to be more of a one day thing for me - a lot easier to deal with than a week and a half...
I eat more right before my period as well.

I don't eat anything cooked though.
Hmm... Okay, I think it's probably a calorie thing, then. I'll just have to eat more. The cooked part of it for me would be because I haven't been eating this way for long and that's what my brain goes back to. A few more months and hopefully I'll be craving bananas, not baked potatoes!

I have noticed this too. I was really craving meat and a bean burrito. So I stuffed myself with fruit, last night, I couldn't stop eating and even when I went to bed I was till hungry...my question would be;

**WHY do we need to more when its our period???** Does anyone have a theory?

I believe it's because our metabolism speeds up at that time of the month, therefore our calorie consumption needs to be increased....(Apparently that's why womyn eat more at that time of the month, but dont put on any extra weight?!)

I have no idea if that's true or not, because I haven't studied it myself, but that's what I was told :D

I would like to say no but I just chowed down 3 small cherimoya mashed up with about 6 small sugar bananas! Oops!
I experience the increase of appetite myself, but think that it caused by the slight imbalance and I do not need extra food... Not sure.
So, no one came up with a theory why we actually are more hungry and need more food on our pre-days. Anyone in the meantime?

i usually eat 3000-35000 a day, and 4000+ on my pre-days. 

Yeah, 3000-3500 si about what I eat now on average.  At the time, I was eating less while I streeetched my stomach :)  I never had this type of monthly craving while eating cooked food, so the whole idea of it was new to me.  I basically just eat alll day for a week or so before my periods.  I don't even keep track of calories - too busy eating.

Yeah, 500 doesn't cut it for me.  I often will eat double, or more probably, what I normally do :/  Ah well.  Whatever works!
