Hello beautyful people!!
Here on the island lives Nico from the US since some years. He is the coordinator of a huge Permaculture project that includes the whole island. Its all in the beginning right now. We started with an organic garden in Thong Sala at the Chai-Hotel. There are many projects going to be realised like vertical gardening, eco-tourisem, roof greening, environmental education and so on.
If you wanna travel to Thailand and do some volunteering here, this is a beautyful possibility doing it. Nico needs helping hands.

Ko Phangan is a beautyful small paradise island with waterfalls, jungle, beautyful plants, trees and flowers, and amazing animals (so much butterflys here, some as huge as birds). Much sun, blue sky, beautyful clouds, white sand and water in all kinds of blue. As well as many possibilitys to do Yoga in yoga schools (The Yoga retreat, Pyramid Yoga, Orion, Agama,...), Reiki, Shiatsu, Bellydance and much more people offer here as workshops, sometimes for free.
People volunteer 20 hours per week and get hotel accomodations for free. The hotel is beautyful and clean, i was in there. It is located at the waterfront of Thong Sala with an awesome view to the sea.
Nico is very thankful for every support.
All kind of fruits are here like papaya, bananas, pineaple, different kinds of mango, mangosteen, rambutan, melon, watermelon, durian, jackfruit, lychee, cempedag, mandarin, dragonfruit, longan, longkong coconuts and some more.
It is a bit more expencive then on the mainland, but even here are people who drive around with their trucks sailing fruits and there you can get 3 kilo of mango for 100 bath (2.50 euro, 3.20 dollar us)
If you feel like, just get in touch with Nico!
Wishing you all the best,
Love,
Daniela
P.S.: more pictures from Ko Phangan on my page, this picture shows the view from Nicos room in the Chai-Hotel to the sea

How safe is the area? I've read that it's a party spot and can become dangerous at night (makes sense for any place though).
