30 Bananas a Day!

Is there something you guys eat that Dr. Graham does not approve of?

Are there any 811 cheat foods you guys indulge in rarely or often?

Or is everyone pure 811er?

Like what do you guys do if you are hungry and there is no good fruit around like in airports or in strange cities with no fruit. Would you guys get a Smoothie King or Pico de gallo from Mexcian restaurant?

umm.. i've used chives in mango-tomato-celery salsa or tomato salad a few times over the summer.. not sure if he approves of them, but they grow all over around my house and they give a slight onion-garlic taste to the recipe that goes nicely

i've also eaten whole heads of cauliflower a few nights per wk over the last couple wks.. that's a bit of a stretch of his guidelines, maybe

frozen durian is probably the only thing i'll really eat as an 'indulgence'

i stopped a long time ago trying to get smoothies or advanced recipes (anything other than plain salads) at restaurants made the way i'd eat them.. they almost always try to add yogurt/sweeteners/etc to smoothies and salt/oil/other condiments to salsas or whatever

i've gotten pretty good at being prepared.. if i'm going to a restaurant/bar/get-together with friends i'll bring a container of dates or a bag of raisins in my pocket or some other fruit

if it's a trip i'll also typically bring a container of dates, but i've come to like fasting on plane rides and longer drives where i'll be sitting for awhile.. this way i can rest the whole way and i think it helps my body get acclimated to speed-travel to a new location/climate
Yes I eat cauliflower too. I did not know he disapproved. I like cauliflower cous cous with tomatoes lemon juice and herbs.

Does he not like cilantro? I use oregano

I also may put some jalapeno.

But Garlic. No.Since 811 I had it once and it gave me a headache several hours later.
nah he uses it in recipes but usually processed or blended since it's supposedly tough to digest.. i don't think that he recommends just munching whole heads of it, but i'm unsure

yes i remember reading dr. d saying that he's a fan of cilantro

i used to obsess over spicy foods, but since committing to LFRV i can't handle even a small bit of hot pepper.. same with garlic.. i'm big on the principle of not eating anything i wouldn't consume by itself
Right. That is good philosophy I do know people who eat cauliflower just like that though from the bush.
it's pretty tasty.. and it actually has a slight spiciness to it sometimes
I've been chowing on yellow cauliflower lately. It's like buttery popcorn or something!
Doug loves cilantro, it's one of his favorite greens.
Cilantro is ok, though oregano is not 8/1/1-approved.
he approves of chives, in small amounts but not everyday. approves of cauliflower but not everyyy day, although it is 811. approves of most fresh herbs like basil, cilantro, oregano, thyme, ect. just not in huuge quantities. just imagine if you were out in nature, and you came across a farm that grew herbs, carrots, lettuce, and beets, would you think to mix the ingredients to make an exotic taste? sure you could. as long as your body doesnt see it as a toxin, its 811. doug has told me that hes eaten 50 ears of corn in a summer, but didnt eat corn again for the next 10 years. its things like that. dont stress yourself over these things, we're A LOT healthier than most.

i actually have gotten smoothies from places as long as they use real fruit. but i realize they taste almost awful now, people dont know how to make good smoothies without sugar or milk.
Yes, I remember that too, Dr. D eats Cilantro Salad.

No mushrooms where do you see that? It does have onions though
