30 Bananas a Day!

I'm starting to think it is, I get sooo much opposition. Today my mother told me I will get fat and get diabetes from eating so many bananas..She also said that "the foods I am eating are all water and that's why I'm hungry." (She says I'm 'hungry', not because I complain of hunger or have low energy, but because I eat HUGE meals of fruits and vegetables. The most irritating part is that she considers this 'anorexia'.

I say nothing to comments like these because I am not an argumentative person and I am not sure how to respond most of the time. I hope it gets easier over time, but I dont know if I can deal with it forever! lol

proper prior preparation prevents piss poor performance.

just arm yourself with as much knowledge as you can. it'll be good for YOU, first and foremost.

side benefit: you'll never be at a loss for a rebuttal.

And i almost forgot the obvious- your example always speaks louder than anything you could say.

People will stop talking over time.  They have to see your resolve.  Once you get comfortable in the lifestyle then their words will even sound different.  They will fill your ears with laughter.  Ha, ha, bwahahaha! Lol!

Just know that people who comment care about you in some way.  They are giving you either the best advice they can or they are jealous.  Jealousy is even good, because it means someone envies you and looks up to you, but do not know how to handle it properly.

No debates.  That wastes all of your precious fruit gained energy.  Just grin and bear it, like the Cheshire Cat.  :)

My mom at first didn't want to buy all the bananas.  She didn't believe I was going to eat them, but now my mom is team banana and buys them for me every time she goes into the store. :)

I even have my parents eating more calories.  They believe that they may have been under-eating for a long time.  :)  I think I win people over because I do not argue.  I just smile and thank them for caring about me.  I don't feel I have to prove that this is a good lifestyle.

To calm some loved ones down.  I say, hey if the diet doesn't work out.  I can always go back to my old diet. :)  or something better.   :)

I agree.
If you argue then it's mostly because you are insecure about your own choices otherwise why would you even bother...

Of course there is always a place for a reasonable discussion sometimes.

When I first heard about somebody eating even just 15 bananas in a day, I thought it was a joke or fake. Then when I realized people actually ate this way, I thought it was radical, extreme, and terribly unbalanced and unhealthy. Not until I researched for myself did I realize it was probably the best way to eat.

That's how it will be for most people. Until they do research for themselves, they'll think it's ridiculous.

Unfortunately, some people lack the basic intelligence and aptitude required to understand basic human physiology, biochemistry, nutrient requirements, etc. Those people will *never* understand. They'll just believe what they've been told their entire life.

It's like arguing with somebody over religion. People just *KNOW* they are right and will never be open to anything that goes against their current beliefs. For most people, their diet is based on faith. They don't research things themselves, they just believe what they've been told by the government, their parents, etc.

I also am not too good at debating. It's an acquired skill. I am always open to opposing points of view though! Don't become hypocritical and block out people who have a well structured argument as to why this way of eating might *not* be optimal. For example, paleo dieters. I choose to eat a certain way, but I don't hate on paleo eaters. They do their thing, which is fine. And I do my thing.

learn a little NVC and you can see them as gifts and give her the empathy and reassurance she needs

Quote: " Is it necessary to be good in arguing/debate to remain HCRV? "

I don't think it is. IMO, the only thing necessary is getting up to a new day and having a breakfast of fresh raw vegan  foods and then continuing the good start to the day for the rest of the day and then continuing day after day with a smile on your face and in your heart.

Sometimes telling someone facts is like asking them to believe in Santa Claus ( sorry kids ). If they dont see tbe fat man come down the chiminey , how can possibly be true? Be the proof by showing them a healtY lifestyle and lead by example. Its Better to see your results then argue them, my parents hated my choice But in the end could not deny i avoided some nasty surgery just by eating habits. sean
