To clarify when you say, "I think that I have anorexia," are you fearful of eating too much food? Or eating too many calories?

I ask this because a lot of anorexics switching to this lifestyle have to grapple with eating well-above 1200 calories (esp with exercise) and large quantities of food.

If you're looking to transition instead of going cold turkey, my biggest tip is going raw one meal at a time. For instance, have fruit for breakfast for a week. The next week, have fruit for breakfast and eat 3 pieces of fruit before eating anything cooked for lunch. The third week, eat fruit breakfast and lunch. Then, tackle dinner.

Good luck!

im fearful of gaining weight and eating too much food, and thank you so much that seems like a really good plan! :)

Buy her the 80-10-10 book.

If she asks you questions, tell her to refer to the book.

Don't transition. 30Bad doesn't support transitioning, it's in the welcome wagon if you need explanation. Doug Graham gets the best success by starting people on banana island for 10 days.

hmmm ok ill have to get the book then and read it before i do anything

Best of luck to you, hon. A lot of us with disordered eating have finally found peace in the raw food world. I'd encourage your mother to read 80/10/10 or lurk around this website. I can't imagine she wouldn't like what she sees.

thanks i hope that she will try to look at it but she is very closed minded :( ill try though

You're how old? I mean, isn't it up to you what you choose to put in your body? Especially if you've been under-eating… I mean, good food can be better than health insurance. Truth!

I agree with getting the 80/10/10 book and reading up so you have some more knowledge for yourself and your mom.

There are different ways to transition or even not transition at all and go overnight basically. It's all up to you and how fast you want to go fruit. There are lots of good threads about transitioning on this forum. I'd suggest you take a look and get an idea in your head of what it will take. Basically buy a lot of fruit, ripen the fruit, get enough calories, success.

Completely convincing someone who isn't on this lifestyle is another dilemma in itself. I'm still struggling with this today after adopting this diet and lifestyle half a year ago. The best way to convince someone in my mind is to show them how great I feel and how much I've improved myself.

Good luck and have fun. Fruit is great.

thanks ill check the threads on transitioning :))

hey yea im hoping that the 811 lifestyle works for me as well haha and im already vegan and the food is very expensive for that ... it seems to me that going 811 will actually be cheaper :)) thanks for the advice!

Read 80/10/10 and that will help.  Look at Freelees blogs regarding anorexia and bullemia.  She is one of the resident authorities on this.  Remind your mom that you are doing this for your health and ask for her to please give you support.  Have her read the book also.  Moms love their children and want the best for them.  This is a path that does indeed help with eating disorders of all kinds.
