What would you do???
I don't think I can do a waterfast...when I get hungry I feel weak and like I'm about to pass out. Water makes me more hungry too.
My flight is from San Francisco to Miami. Then from Miami to South America.
I called the airport and the lady did not know if I could take fruit with me. She said "a couple of oranges I think would be fine" I'm taking like 20 peeled!
I'm hoping they'll let me in with fruit!!
What happens if they don't? Do I get a few Odwallas? I guess I could do dates but I'd like something more filling or I might end up eating at the cooked processed carbs on the plane.
you can bring fruit on a plane for flights within the US. international flights im not so sure of.
usually it's fine as long as you don't bring them into the other country, i.e. eat before you clear customs (for places like UK, Australia, New Zealand)
you should be able to, I see no problem to be honest.
Also, call up the airline and order a fruit platter for your meal
Thanks :) I think I'm fully confident now I'll be able to take fruit with me on the plane to Miami.
I'm going to do fruits to Miami (oranges and bananas), then from there maybe I'll munch on dates and if I get hungry might grab a cooked grain/starch or a fruit bowl from restaurants. It's all good :)
Dates and other dried fruits are you friends on plane trips. I still chuckle about the TSA guy digging through my backpack and saying "Oh...that's a...cucumber...." Silly TSA guys can't keep their hands off my cucumber(s)!
But especially within the US you should be able to take as much fruit as you can fit in your bag. Dates and extra water work perfect for keeping space minimal.
hahahaha I love your stories chris
Thanks everyone! Happy holidays<3
A little humor for the road....
silly TSA guys
Can I bring homemade food?
Like medjool date-carob brownies into the plane?
Can you take datorade or smoothies in a water bottle? I'm traveling at the end of the month w/ two kids and I'm very nervous about having enough food...I don't want to have to get anything while I'm traveling...I hope to have all I need with me.
No, Mera. Unfortunately liquids over a few ounces are not allowed. Not even water. -- All liquids have to be purchased after you pass the security check point. (Unless you fill your empty water bottle up at drinking fountain. Then it's free. :))
I usually bring dried fruits & bananas. And I bring empty containers to put the dried fruits in to soak in water.
If I want to eat something at the airport I can usually find a Jamba Juice kiosk. I usually get their 16-32oz fresh orange juice.
So between the fresh OJ, the bananas, plenty of water, & then the soaked dried fruits at the end of the flight, this is enough for me.
Safe, filling, & fun travels to you & the kids! :)
