Just donated :) easy as eating a banana if you have a paypal account if you don't create one :).

If I don't wind up attending at least I have a small part in it :)

Thanks Mikey,

You got heart man, and I salute you!
It's true that this is the defining year if the festival will make it or not.  We're far from covering total expenses, but I'm still hopeful we're going to have a last minute rush on sign ups like we did last year.  If we get close to covering costs then we'll have an annual event that will organize our voices for a better diet to the rest of the world.  I think we can do it, but it's going to take more people like you that care about what this event means and can do for the rest of the world.  Thanks again, you're doing what's right for everyone's benefit!

Thanks Michael,

That means a lot coming from you. The fruit festival is an amazing experience and has the power to change peoples lives, it would be sad if we could not keep it going. I hope you will get some more last minute sign ups, I hope my brother and me can be one of them.

One of the amazing abilities of the festival is to educate in such a short span for knowledge, physical and lifestyle. It would take me a years worth of trying try to explain this to my brother and I don't think I would cover it as well as the festival does. It is a very powerful tool and so much fun as well :)

I will do my best to keep this thread visible, hopefully more people will donate it would be a great way to ensure the costs are covered with just a little by each of us.

All the best

Hey Mike what about Dovima's idea of selling footage from the talks at the fruit festival?. It is a great way to spread the impact of the festival and should provide a good return to the festival. People could just pay a fee to access the great videos on the site which the members get free access for attending, what do you think?

Though as I mentioned in my reply we need to also to be able to get behind something and support it just on the sake of supporting something good with nothing in return. The festival should not always need to come up with ways to stay alive the community should support it and make it easy for you guys to continue the awesome work your doing.

We're considering something like that but we have to negotiate a legal agreement with the speakers on these sort of things.  Many of our speakers make a living (or try to) in this field and part of the agreement was that their media wouldn't be 'for sale' certainly without them having some compensation.  It gets a bit more complicated.  Hence we're in the midst of developing a Board of Governors at the event so these decisions can be made collectively and with transparency.  If I'm calling all the shots the event won't make it, it's got to be a group thing so all respect how things are decided.

Thanks for the explanation Michael hope something that can be worked out.

What about selling footage from the event?  That would be a major incentive for many of us, I'm sure, to be able to access all of the information and inspiration and knowledge.

Awesome Idea Dovima,

I agree this would be a great way to help with their expenses and as well spread the impact of the festival.

Though what if they wind up selling the DVDs and yet are still falling short of their budget will we have to give more incentive to people to support this event?. Can we not just give from our hearts do we need always something in return?. I am hoping that this is one of the communities that just does not think of their own interests and think of others. Can we make a difference when we get together for a good cause or will we be divided and powerless like most other people?

This event has the ability to give so much to others and ourselves. It is a great feeling to give to something with out always getting something in return just knowing your doing your part for something greater.

Please do not see my reply towards you, I appreciate your input and think it is an awesome idea and hope it happens I am just talking in general.

Thanks for your reply

One of the larger expenses of the event has been hiring a top professional film production crew that will be making a 30-60 minute documentary on the event.  This will be 'free' and do a lot to show how wonderful and inspiring the people are that eat this diet and live this lifestyle.  I've put a lot of focus on the development of the best media possible because I realize that's what is going to have the widest reaching impact on people that weren't able to attend.

Totally agree Mike,

sounds like a great initiative.

There'll be a big surge closer to the date, for sure. I can well imagine that most people's decision on whether they go or not is of the 'I'll wait and see if I'm free to do this when the date comes near' type of decision.

I Hope their is a big sign up as well but if we are banking on that enough people sign up to covers the cost I fear the festival will fall short like last year. That is why I am creating this discussion, it just take a little from each of us to ensure that it will make it and encourage these amazing people for doing this event (lets take the stress off their shoulders).

I really hope you get the chance to go it is an amazing experience if not I appreciate you donating to help support this event so that others can benefit from it. Also maybe next year you will get a chance to go.

Thanks for the reply.
