Hi Jolita,
Increase the price of what people should donate? . You raised a valid point and I updated the thread asking if people can give as much as they feel comfortable with due to the possibility not everyone will donate (if you look above). At first I figured when it came to donating they would choose the amount but I guess it is better to write it.
I will also ask passionate members to get loved ones to chip in for the cause. One person can raise a lot, I will also add this in the thread for people to be proactive. So far from my own family I have raised 60 dollars (not including my donation which is another 60$) and will be adding to this total.
Permalink Reply by ali8un on July 29, 2012 at 10:08pm I am hopeful that the festival will be a well established annual event by the time I am able to participate...probably not before 2017!!! Due to university commitments. So, happy to donate each year till then :) Have a great time everyone who is fortunate to be able to go and enjoy the festival!
Thank you ali for being part of this great festival
I hope as well that it will be around for many years to come. With such selflessness thinking and giving to help others usually it comes back to those giving people (like yourself :). So there is a very good chance you will have the opportunity as well :)
Have a great day.
Just wanted to thank everyone for participating in promoting the lifestyle and showing what we should all be about.
I feel like a great eagle this morning because my spirit has been lifted so high :)
Permalink Reply by Peter Csere on July 30, 2012 at 1:29am Is there an alternative payment method for those who are opposed to the unethical business practices of paypal?
Permalink Reply by Michael on July 30, 2012 at 5:12am Yea, I 2nd that... ugh Paypal... they are no 'pal' that's for sure. It's beyond frustrating working with them and what they charge. We do have quite a few people mailing us checks so we can avoid the fees, The Fruitarian Corp. 6 East 45th St. 20th Floor NYC, NY 10017 But for smaller donations it's really not worth the fuss, and Paypal is the only game in town still. Paypal needs some competition in the marketplace b/c no politicians are going to stand up to them....
Permalink Reply by Jolita Brilliant on July 30, 2012 at 6:58am payapl is the best for small fees, why you say its unethical?
Hi Peter,
you can also donate by mail, email or phone. If you want your donation to double as raffle tickets please specify when donating. $1 buys 1 raffle ticket, and every 25th ticket comes with 5 extra tickets! Example:
* $25 for 30 tickets
* $50 for 65 tickets
* $100 for 140 tickets

Permalink Reply by DomanicMBS on July 30, 2012 at 2:30am You rock Dom way to keep the momentum going!
Thanks for the comments Dom they are appreciated. It is the fruit festival organizers that deserve all the praise, I just did a little effort to show my appreciation and if everyone does the same (like yourself) it will grow into something amazing.
I was just picking some wild thimbleberries in back of where I live they grow like crazy for a nice snack, also had some blueberries, mulberries and strawberries which I planted 2 years ago.
Came back inside to a nice surprise.
Thanks again.
Were up to 9 people who have donated since yesterday, great stuff. Most likely my sister and brother will be donating soon :) and there not even doing the diet (yet) but see the importance of this festival and the potential of going. Possibly me and my brother will go this year here is hoping.
Thanks again lets keep it going :)
Permalink Reply by Michael on July 30, 2012 at 5:04am Over $600. came in since this thread started. I'm kinda shocked! It shows a lot of heart for the movement and how important this event is in spreading the word to the masses. That's why I wanted to start this event from the very beginning...sure it's great to have a place for all of us to gather and have fun, but the real goal was to give the rest of the world a kick in the ass about what is the best option, the most sustainable and perfect option for diet. A large gathering of people to produce a unified strong voice is like a march on the capital in Washington DC, it's a protest and a megaphone that will be heard. And that IS worth donating for. I thank you all for joining in the dream.
