I recently got a box of bananas that definitely was off. Sure they started greenish as they usually do, but they were the type that became spotty while retaining some green. I knew this was not right, but I'd bought 40 pounds of bananas and I was still going to eat them.
A day or two in, I started to have very bad gas, but didn't think anything of it (stupid, because my body reacts strongly to things out of the ordinary). After one banana meal, I actually felt somewhat sick to my stomach, which has never happened with bananas. Full, yes; sick, no. Anyway after that meal and one earlier in the day (also of the same bananas), I felt so tired. Utterly lethargic. I was wondering how that could be, because I'd easily topped 2000 calories and still had another meal left in the day. I had a very large date smoothie with a couple DIFFERENT bananas, and started to liven up. I realized the feeling was that severely undercarbed feeling I get when I just don't eat enough.
Is it possible that my body shuttled the bad bananas through without absorbing the calories? Stools were loose-ish but nothing like diarrhea (sorry for those squeamish types).
I thought this was very interesting. I'm learning a lot about my body through 811.
Thanks for any comments you guys have.
