30 Bananas a Day!

I cut out all overt fats over 3 weeks ago and I haven't lost an ounce of belly blubber. Please help me not get frustrated.

whats your activity level like?

I go to 11 or 12 yoga classes a week. (not beginner)  I commute on a bike, hills and wind are involved, maybe average 1 1/2 hrs a day, sometimes more. I jog barefoot on the beach at least twice a week about 45 mins, sometimes slow, sometimes fast, but always sweaty. I feel like I'm pretty active for my age, but always feel guilty for not doing more.

Mostly it's Iyengar. But I have another teacher that does his own thing outside in a park. I've done many styles in the past, but these days as my age advances, moving quickly from pose to pose isn't always the best. I've done Bikram in the past, and even though the style I practice is full of yogis who believe their way is the best and only way, I have nothing against anyone who gets up off their ass and approaches this very challenging discipline no matter which school they choose.

Where are your dexa scans to prove this?

Show us some photos. Maybe your already at a health fat/fluid level.

I guess this is helping me not get frustrated. Proof? That sounds, um... odd. I wouldn't lie to you, Harley. I think you're great. Sorry, don't know what dexa scans are. Well here's a pic I just took that I'm not happy to show you.

Well some people actually gain weight before they start losing so count your blessings ;)

This diet/lifestye is for long term health gain above anything else and the weight balance will come along with that.  It takes time for the body to adjust to everything so just be patient and keep checking to make sure you have all the factors right.  Hydration, make sure you are peeing with vigor 8-15 times daily.  Use chronometer or nutridiary to make sure you are eating at least 2500 calories daily and less than 10% fat and protein.  Enough sleep so you feel well rested.  sun and exercise I think you have ;)  emotional poise.  Also make sure your fruit is ripe and well combined.

To melt that fat cutting out overts isn't enough, you MUST do aerobic exercise like biking or jogging on a regular basis.

3 weeks without oils is nothing, but if you follow 811 and exercise consistently the fat will melt you just need to have patience. You didn't get all that body fat in 3 weeks now didn't you? :)

No, of course not. I never said it should all disappear in 3 weeks. Just looking for a little nudge in the numbers. I've been exercising for decades. I'm over 60. What I do is summarized somewhere in this discussion. This morning I have ridden my bike uphill 25 + 20 minutes and taken a challenging 2 hour yoga class. This afternoon I'll ride my bike to the beach, jog barefoot (push harder) and start getting that headstand happening again. I need to go back to my almost daily one hour headstands, that I quit a few months ago due to a shoulder injury. Oh and I have to take another uphill ride to deliver something. Haven't had a car for several years.
