Also according to Mike Anderson of the movie Eating says in his book "The Rave Diet"..
"Since the majority of Americans are either type O or type B, the "blood type" diet has served as a way to justify gluttonous ways of eating and is similar to the Atkins diet, for the O and B blood types.*
*One example of why the blood type diet makes little sense: It posits that type B's should thrive on dairy products. This sounds great to Americans because the vast majority of white Americans (and Europeans) tolorate lactose (a sugar found in dairy products). On the other hand, the highest percentage of type B's in the world is found in Asia. But since 90 percent of Asians are lactose intolerant I can guarantee you they will not thrive on dairy products - just the opposite!"

My thoughts are if we are suppose to eat by blood type..then why are we not given medications from doctors by our "blood type".

Hope this helps :)
The blood type diet is an absolute SCAM

It has no basis in ANY science whatsoever. Dr. D'Adamo developed it to sell his products/books. It removes a lot of junk food which makes people feel much better but the whole idea of 4 different diet plans based on your blood type is not based in reality. In fact, he often cites his other books as sources instead of actual studies.

I suggest you take a hard look at the blood-type approach. I think you will realize what a crock it is. In the mean time, don't throw out the bananas!
The 'Eat right for your type' dietary guidelines are about as scientific as a nursery rhyme. Even logically, this would only actually make sense (forgetting all science for a moment) coming from a creationist stand point. We are the only creature on the planet these rules apply too? I think not.
The diet isn't peer reviewed and there is zero evidence to support its claims. All tigers eat the same thing, all gorilla's eat the same thing, all panda bears eat the same thing, etc etc etc. Humans are no exception, we don't thrive on different foods depending on blood type. We would all have to be of a different species. Enjoy your banana's, they are one of natures most perfect foods :)
Why don't you see for yourself what types of fruits work best for you?

For instance, according to Dr. D'Adamo bananas are "Highly Beneficial" for blood type O (which is what I am) and that type o should avoid oranges.
http://www.dadamo.com/typebase4/depictor5.pl?45 (bananas & type o)
http://www.dadamo.com/typebase4/depictor5.pl?275 (oranges & type o)

Personally I feel better (and look better) when I avoid bananas and eat oranges.

So who should I listen to? A book or my body?

Well my body won!

There are fruits on the "avoid" list for type o that are "beneficial" for my body like cantaloupe (If I could consistently get good cantaloupe I would eat it everyday), honeydew melon and a few others.

Even when I followed this diet many years ago I didn't follow it completely as I didn't listen to the fruit recommendations--I ate all I wanted of my favorite fruits.

I have to admit that his recommendations to avoid grains and dairy products worked well!
I recently wrote a lengthy article looking at the blood type diet and the science behind it. Hope you find it enjoyable.
Nice article, Andrew!

I have been trying to follow the diet for Blood Type A, minus Tomatos. But now of course I am eating lots of bananas!

I have talked with some people and they can recognize personality habits based on blood type. Isn't that strange???

Most of all, I listen to my body. ER4YT talks about how blood type As have low stomach acidity and this does worry me a bit I guess... How do we make sure that low stomach acidity doesn't harm us by the food we eat? Maybe this is crazy nonsense as well. I am curious to know a bit more about it.
I think I found it...

18. Blood Type Diet (2:16)
Thank you for this very informative study. :-)

Am type A too, supposed to do best on a fruit and veg centred diet, so far so good, only when I  read about the food recommendation,  I was disappointed to see they say I should avoid Bananas, Mangoes, tomatoes, Orange :(

Glad I don't have to take any notice... mind  you they said pineapples should be excellent for me so got me some pineapples lol
