Aahhh!!!! :D im so happy, its my dads birthday and we went out to this "healthy" restaurant, Saffran .. they have it in Orlando newly opened.
Anyway they all had their HUGE plates of "healthy" spelt pizzas with cheese, chicken, red onion and pineapple, ohh god i cant say that it was easy cause this is my favorite thing to eat of cooked food aside from sushi. Those two are my favorite cooked dishes. The melted cheese and the perfectly cooked crunchy crust was sooo hard to look at, at first.
But then when they were about half way through complaining about being full and still kept on eating, it wasnt so hard. And afterwards they all felt tired and full and pretty crappy. But i felt great ! =)
So .. there... today i survived my first out to eat experience (i had to talk aaalooot about this lifestyle change of mine and explane everything, of course most of the talk was about protein!) ... i wasnt ready for this meal at a restaurant yet, but i had to go cause it was his birthday. But i DID IT ! =)
SO HAPPYYY! :D

One big tip I can give is to always either bring enough fruit with you (dates work AWESOME for this) or to eat enough beforehand. I can be around the "tastiest" cooked food in the world and it just doesn't register as food to me as long as I've eaten enough. I've done experiments with this. When I'm really hungry, just about anything looks good. But as you start getting satisfied by eating enough fruit it just starts looking distasteful.
Either way, excellent victory!!! :D

I made sure i ate until i was EXTREEMLY full before i went :D and kept drinking water while i was there :D
Permalink Reply by Usha Sunrise on November 26, 2011 at 6:26pm You don't have to go without food. Most steak houses, for example, have excellent salad bars that are unlimited. Just bring your own 811 salad dressing. And, if you ask, they always have fruit desserts and are willing to prepare something off the menu.

Permalink Reply by oxabbsxo on November 27, 2011 at 1:11am i do that all the time:) stuff myself with fruit, go out to eat, and then get a plain salad with friends. win-win scenario!
oh and if you've never been to olive garden they have an unlimited salad bowl for five or six dollars. favorite. restaurant. ever. :)
Permalink Reply by Usha Sunrise on November 27, 2011 at 6:01pm Just saying that if I go to a restaurant and everyone around me is eating, and I can't eat anything myself, I am setting myself up for failure. I eat fruit for breaky and lunch myself and have McDougall style dinners, usually. McDougall style-dinners you can also order in restaurants, that simple, off the menu, assemble your own dish. Also, if you ask them, they are most of the time willing to prepare you a savory salad, or, even a giant smoothie. I always ask off the menu and most chefs are willing to accommodate me.
No salad bars? Are you in Iceland?? Steakhouses don't have salad bars in Iceland?
