Hi, I wonder if anybody can help me. I have been about 95% raw now for about 3 months. I love this way of life, dropped about 10 pounds and have loads more energy.
However, I have developed a nasty rash on my legs, which looks like dermatitis. It is itchy and extremely annoying. I am not sure if I will have to have it permanently since it looks like it is spreading instead of going away.
Does anybody know what to do to make it go away? I would really appreciate some help with it.

You could try giving these up completely for a while just to see what the result is. Sometimes a food that didn't bother us (or didn't seem to) when we were eating "conventionally" does bother us when we are raw, because we are "cleaner"-it is no longer masked by other things.

Permalink Reply by Boshena on January 6, 2012 at 7:10pm I am so glad that I did not write something like "lamb liver pate" rather than mayonaise, I would REALLY get crucified LOL. Mayonaise is very rare and most of the time I am raw vegan with lots of fruit, but when you cook for other people who WILL RATHER STARVE than eat raw food (foster kids) than sometimes I am just too tired to argue and put some mayo in some dishes so at least they will try them.
Then of course they will only eat a small spoonful of that and rather than throw it out, I will eat it.
I have had extended periods without any cooked foods and the rash is still here, so it does not seem to have anything to do with the mayo.
The only constant thing that I eat every day are bananas and mango, I do hope that I am not allergic to those or I would be really lost!

It may be your own body:D
Actually, some of our members, even if it is low fat vegan food, if they cheat with cooked food, get sick and or detox symptoms too.
With this diet, with most people, it is all or none, but IMO, it is so worth it. I feel so much better.
Peace, PK
Permalink Reply by PK on January 7, 2012 at 4:06am I am sorry about this rash.
The more you do this diet, the more clean your body will get, and you will learn this:
CHEAT DAYS = SICK DAYS!
Your body may be detoxing.
But, if you are cheating with animal products and or high fat products, or eating too much fats like raw nuts and avocados, then you might be a high blood sugar condition in your body. On a high fat diet, the body cannot absorb and utilize blood sugar properly. To combat this problem, candida will bloom. Sometimes a candida will show itself as a rash.
The best thing to do is go 100 low fat raw vegan whole fresh fruit and leafy green based diet. Within 48 hours, the blood fat should clear up, and within a week or so, the rash should clear up.
Good luck and Peace, PK
Permalink Reply by Boshena on January 7, 2012 at 10:01am I don't cheat very often and there had been periods of up to 2 weeks when I was 100% pure but still the rash persists. I am hoping it is due to my body detoxing and that it will go away, because 2 months of it is a bit too much.
I will try to cut out most of the nuts and avocados, although I am already eating less than a small handful of nuts OR about half an avocado per day.
Could a block of chocolate a day be the problem? (Just joking haha)
Permalink Reply by Debbie on January 7, 2012 at 5:43am I agree with Pk. Sounds like too much fat, mayo and olives, mixed with fruit. High fruit/high fat is a sure way to help candida grow.
Permalink Reply by Boshena on January 7, 2012 at 10:03am I will cut out all the fats for a week and I will see what happens.
Permalink Reply by Alena on January 7, 2012 at 5:48am she said she doesnt eat it every day so if its not the fat then might be just a detox. if it doesnt go away then it might be an allergy. u can test by taking the bananas or mangoes out of the diet and see how that goes. also try the pulse allergy test for the bananas and other staples. if its a detox reaction- thats good news. ur body is working and cleaning out. :)

This forum is magic. All I had to do is to share my problem and two days later my rash stopped itching and one week later it is gone! I did not do anything any different, but must have got a lot of good vegan raw energy :-)
Thanks everybody!
