30 Bananas a Day!

My max bike trip is 50 miles, which I've done probably 5 or 6 times. It wears me out a little, but I feel with slowing my pace down, taking more frequent breaks, and eating/drinking more on the ride, I can double my mileage.

I know the basics like bringing a repair kit/pump, lubing up the chains, checking seat height (thanks, DR), etc. I'd love any other tips/advice from long distance riders.

I plan on taking 2 pounds of dates. Should I take more? One pound is more than enough for my 50 mile trips, so I'm thinking it should be plenty. Is taking a gallon of water enough? The high is only supposed to be 60 degrees and partly cloudy. I'd rather have too much of both than not enough, but my bag is only so big and don't want the extra weight if I'm not going to use it.

A bike rack with panniers is useful so your bike takes the weight and not your shoulders. If you've got space greens are light weight, satisfying, mineral replenishing and seem to be tooth cleaning after dates.

Enjoy the ride :)

Oh snap forgot about celery. Yes, I was worried about taking a backpack too but too cheap for more bike equipment. Thanks for the suggestions, William.
