30 Bananas a Day!

OK. Due to the fact that I have a massive and debilating fungus overgrowth in my system, I am having so much trouble trusting fruit - Since it is considered "damp" and sugar. I really need to hear from others who have had similar symptoms of puffiness, EXTREME dissociation and drunkenness, inability to read, to focus, slurred speech, vaginal discharge (sorry guys...). I don't really know how to do this. I know that my refined sugar habit is not the solution. And raw greens don't seem energy-wise sufficient enough. I am kind of grossed out by cooked food and meat at this point. I so want to do this. But I am so scared. If I get any worse I will die. There is not one part of me that doubts that. This is the year I either get better or leave the planet. Please help. Sorry to sound desperate. I am....

If you keep the fat very low, I don't think you'll have trouble with fruit at all and will reverse this situation. I would eat no overt fats whatsoever until the condition reverses. That would be my advice. Fresh fruit shouldn't pose a problem, but a solution. I wouldn't eat any dried fruit either.

By the way, Feelea cured candida on 7 days of bananas.

your on the wrong site if you dont trust fruit love :).

eat just mono meals of sweet fruit for a month. no overts.no greens. watch your life transform.
and being more active helps us detox the crap from years of high fat eat'n and cooked food suffering.

there is a book called 80/10/10 by dr douglas graham. 100% succesful in treating candida issues. we just have to decide what results we want in life. we gotta raise our standards, change our beliefs and follow an action plan. just do it! :)

I'm sorry you're having such a time right now, and I understand it being difficult to trust fruit in this case. Do you know the theory behind it, and how the fat interferes with sugar absorption and the candida come in to eat the excess? That's a very rudimentary explanation, but I think that's the basic idea. Candida is actually saving your life right now. Would you feel more reassured if you posted on Dr. D's site or did a consult with him? Have you read his book? Have you been diagnosed w/candida overgrowth? Sorry I don't have specific personal experience (although I probably do have a slight case of it), but from what I've heard of Dr. D's recommendations on that, it's no overt fats for at least 3 weeks, no juices, no dried fruits, and maybe no dates for awhile. Once your symptoms are gone, you can probably add in a little fat. There are testimonials in his book for candida and 80/10/10, and I've heard/read of others having success. It might be beneficial to have Dr. D helping you along, because as you detox and the candida dies off, you may feel worse for a little bit--he could guide you and reassure you. If you are not ready for this, I think there are other ways you could get significant improvement (cutting out all the worst offenders and eating low-fat)--that's kind of what my mom did, with the help of a naturopath. But it sounds like you are wanting to try this. It sounds like you need some support, though, because you are so scared. Hopefully others here can help you, but reach out to whoever you need to. I hope you feel a sense of hope soon and get better--I believe you can!

Dear DancingLight, ♥
I am sorry to hear that you are having those health challenges.
I have not had any of the symptoms you mention, but I do have the greatest faith in fruit.
Good quality fruit, grown with love in good soil, I believe to be a beautiful and perfect food for humans.
I believe human beings to have the physiology of frugivores.

Perfectly ripe fruit has a very different effect upon the body to refined sugar.
I have been on a fruit diet for 17 years and have never had an issue with fungus.
If a food is good for us when we have health, it will still be good for us when our health is imbalanced.
It does not make sense to me that a food (fruit) that nourishes those in balanced health would somehow 'not work' for those who are imbalanced.

Maybe try mono-meals or days of fruit, to see which fruits suit you personally.

If you are attracted by raw, tender greens, then they are likely what your body needs too.

Mind and thoughts are so important, to have faith in your diet, will help that diet work even better for you.

Wishing you all the best with your healing ♥ ♥
Love and peace XX.

I would recommend fasting first. It will clear a lot of mucosal gunk out. Rough, but it will do the job. Once you overcome the climax of a fast, it gets better. Mucous wanes, etc. It takes resolve though to go through with it.

Oh okay, the people before me are much more experienced.

I don't get sugar overload with fruits, such as tangerines, for example. On a Thanksgiving day I ate a whole bunch of cake and fats, cooked starches and everything, and my urine turned cloudy from excess sugars. I ate some ripe tangerines when I noticed cloudy urine and that went away. It did not exacerbate that at all. On the contrary, it helped.

You will find what works for you.

Don't mix high fat with high fruit and don't mix cooked with high fruit, eat fruit and greens and very minimal fat (which means eating lots and lots of fruit, any time you're hungry just eat fruit no fat/cooked), and you will observe amazing results within weeks. This comes from my personal experience, tried all sorts of diets, all sorts of raw food diets, and nothing compares to frugivorous-style raw. I observed similar amazing changes in people around me. So if the compelling empirical evidence is what matters, then that's it, you found the solution to your problem, congratulations, lucky you, and all the best to you! :)))

I stay off of GITMR altogether. A lot of misguided information there.

I know who you're talking about.

Dancinglight,

Candida and fungi are not enemies. They serve a biological purpose. The body does not make mistakes. We would and should naturally have candida and other fungi inhabiting our body. The body allows this because they serve life-saving functions to the body...they gobble up excess sugar. If our blood sugar levels get too high at any point, we risk going into a coma, even dying. The body has several mechanisms in place to make sure that doesnt happen. Firstly, it will kickstart the adrenal glands into producing large amounts of adrenaline and cortisol, two stress hormones, to tell the pancreas that there is a potentially life-threatening emergency, and that it needs to produce way more insulin. So the insulin is secreted in massive amounts to reduce the burden. Secondly, the body will convert some of the excess sugar into fat and cholesterol. Thirdly, the bodys friendly helpers, candida/fungi, come along to gobble up excess sugar.

The body is designed to be able to deal with these emergencies...but not every day. And certainly not, as is the case for most people, 3 times per day.

So then the question is...why is it that some peoples blood sugar levels can get too high?

The mean reasons include:

1) over-eating. If we eat more food than our body requires, our blood sugar levels will get high because all the cells are already fuelled up. So the body has nowhere to take the sugar.

2) eating refined sources of sugar. These include alcohol, cane sugar, cane juice, any fruit or vegetable juice, syrups (eg. maple, agave, honey). Our body is designed to consume sources of sugar that are presented with fibre. Fibre acts as a buffer, slowing the release of sugar. It ensures the body can digest the sugar only at the rate that it needs to. When you remove the fibre, the body is unable to control effectively how quick the sugar is released into the blood stream. so the sugar rushes in really quickly, and causes blood sugar spikes. This will always demand excess activity from the adrenals, pancreas, and also from candida/fungi.

3) Eating dried fruits, we are consuming concentrated sugar. When we remove the water that accompanies the sugar, the sugars naturally concentrate. Since water is filling to the body, this takes up volume in our stomach, preventing us from over-eating. When the water is removed, our stomach does not signal the body to say that it is full as quickly. so theres more time to eat lots more sugar than we would naturally be able to consume.

4) Eating excess dietary fat. Unlike sugar, which should come in and out of the bloodstream pretty fast, fats stick around for upto 24 hours when consumed in excess. They can then block the insulin receptors, having large molecules, preventing the insulin, (whose job it is to take the blood sugar out of the bloodstream and into the cells) from doing its job properly. This causes the pancreas to think that the insulin has got lost, and so the adrenals and the pancreas have to work overtime. To prevent diabetes, the body allows the candida/fungi to gobble up some of the sugar to reduce the burden on the pancreas.

Other causes of candida, as well as these things, can include:

1) lowered immunity. Excess adrenal stress, (from lifestyle, as well as from diet) can suppress the immune system. It also increases nutritional demands, to support the adrenal recovery, so the immune system may get less nutrients. If people arent consuming enough whole fruits, or are consuming excess fat, this will cause imbalances in the friendly bacteria levels. This will also be the case if people have a history of smoking, oral contraception use, anti-biotic use, any other prescription or recreational substance misuse, alcohol use. This means the immune system is less able to keep the fungi levels in check.

2) Chronic stress/adrenal fatigue. As mentioned above. If the adrenals are constantly overworked, they will be unable to keep up the demands for pushing the pancreas into overproducing adrenalin when dietary challegnes come up, leaving an over-reliance on the fungi to mop up the sugar.

3) lowered neuro-transmitter functioning. Its well known that the immune system is dependant on healthy levels of neurotransmitters. This is likely due, in part, to the friendly bacteria link.

4) insufficient exercise. If youre not exercising enough, then youre not increasing your cellular demand for glucose, and youre not creating the space for fat to be used up much more quickly, and hence released faster from the blood stream.

Its no good avoiding sugar altogether, since this is impossible. Our cells are fuelled only by sugar, so even if you consume only fatty foods and no sugar, the body will still break it down into sugar. There is no avoiding sugar. And it will still not be correcting the cause...high fat diets. Its not that sugar is the problem. Its that excess blood sugar levels are the problem.

The solution then, is to eat a low fat diet (initially I would suggest no overt fats for 3 weeks), eating only fruits and greens, from whole foods. No juices, no syrups, no sugars, no dried fruits. Just whole, fresh, ripe, raw fruits and vegetables.

This will support the immune system, adrenal recovery, neurotransmitter functioning, and allow the fungi to reduce their populations. Since they only consume excess blood sugar, if you prevent such a situation from occurring, by eating only whole foods, and by exercising before meals, the populations will naturally control themselves, when they are denied sufficient food.

Take care

Adam x

You CAN trust fruit. Fruit is our natural food. Don't worry. You WILL heal. Eat fruit, get lots of rest and nature will take its course.

I used to have problems with candida and have not any issues since eating a high fruit/low fat diet.

Blessings,

Audrey
