Hello there!
I have decided to start experimenting with my eating habits and trying out a few different dietary changes for a while & see how they effect my running performance & general energy level, I am quite a lazy human being, not inactive but I tend to find excuses not to exercise and I am pretty sure my daily exercise levels are below par.
I do enjoy smoothies so I believe this will be a great start for my experimentation, I may however move onto juices for the second week. That or two weeks per experiment.
Does anyone with any previous experience with liquid or low solid diets have any advice for me on my journey?
Also my smoothie book does not take note of food combining & mixes fruits of sub-acid, acid, bland, Melons & sweet nature, together, will it still digest poorly together when blended in my new Blendtec Total Blender.
I also probably will not be juicing/blending many greens, I tend to eat no more that 100g of greens (spinach) a week, or maybe none, I don't think I need to but..?
Oh and what are your opinions on adding frozen fruit to a smoothie, although it my mind, it doesn't seem right, if there is nothing wrong with it & it makes my smoothie a little colder, it could be good to add, although maybe chilling my fruits could work better. I have always wondered whether freezing fruit damages the fruit in a way which we are yet to discover, aside from visual imperfections.
And last but not least, with the majority of my fruits being organic over this two week period, do I blend whole fruits or just the so called edible portions of fruits, with fruits such as Kiwi, Mango & Pitaya, I always eat the skin, with fruits such as Tangerines, Papaya & Melon, I occasionally eat the skin, with fruits such as banana, Pineapple & Grapefruit, I never eat the skin (I used to eat pineapple skin occasionally, but one pineapple showed me *what for* and decided it would make my mouth look like a stab victim), Oh & I know not to eat durian skin or young thai coconut water skins!
Peace, Love & Happiness To You All,
Yours Sincerely,

Permalink Reply by Simon on January 4, 2011 at 6:16pm Your story was very interesting, It is amazing how Ensure is considered to be the liquid food for health, I was nearly put on that or something alike when I was not eating, but due to following a strict vegan diet, I managed to avoid such a horror.
You're certainly right about a liquid diet being unnatural, I have the very same feelings but I believe that if my experimentation lead to an improved athletic ability, when I switch back to whole foods, my new abilities may come with me. My body probably still has more cleaning to do, I have only been raw around 5 months, however my diet prior to that was exceptionally high in raw fruits, greens, dried fruits and vegetables, my food preference.
Tangerine skins are like Kumquat skins =), Papaya skins are edible, just sour =(, Melon skins are edible depending on what melon you go for, it has to be a really soft thin skin to eat =), pineapple skins should not be eaten! Mango skins are 100% edible, but some are allergic, that is the only reason why it is not common place to consume. =)
I couldn't stop eating solid food for good, no chance, I much prefer mono-solid food! Experimentation is the key though!
Peace, Love & Happiness To You,
Yours Sincerely,

Permalink Reply by Simon on January 4, 2011 at 6:41pm I know I should be eating my greens but I believe perfect diet is a fruitarian one, I know 80/10/10 is a form fruitarianism but I think 100% fruit of which 70% is organic is what I am looking to achieve one day. So for this I tend to feel far more comfortable eating fruit.
For me a persimmon skin is like an apple, pear or berry skin, I have never considered not eating it.
Why do you not let your Kiwis ripen, being a climacteric fruit, you should be able to just leave them to become ripe & soft =) ? Thank You =)

Permalink Reply by Simon on January 4, 2011 at 7:12pm Aww, that is such a shame, I had a four Kiwis like that in Cyprus & decided I didn't like Kiwis anymore & I stuck with that opinion for far too long. Then, a few months later I ate a few Kiwis & realized I loved Kiwis again & that I had just eaten some poor ones.
My first durian was hard, white & unripe, if I had not of had not of seen images of what it was supposed to look like, it would of stopped me eating it ever again. Unripe fruit can be far inferior to their ripe counterpart.
I can't remember if you said that you had tried a Sun Kiwi before or not, I love Sun Kiwis, they are my No.1 Kiwi. =)
Peace, Love & Happiness To You,
Yours Sincerely,
