Permalink Reply by ORGANIC811LFRV on June 13, 2012 at 9:47am There is no such thing as non-personal proof enough to get someone to take the plunge and switch their diet. However, there are plenty of books on the market that show the "proof" to those who of their own volition wish to find alternate ways of managing their diseases and extending the life - including the quality of it. There is a great movie called: Raw for 30 days. There are 2 men in it with Type 1 diabetes. 1 man failed to go completely off the booze binge and didn't do as well as he could. The other was mis-diagnosed as Type 2 and ended up completely reversing his condition. Then there are Victoria Boutenkos books, films and history with dealing with those suffering from both types. Have her cut out all meat, dairy and processed foods! This is a must. But again, she has to be the one who desides to take the steps necessary to heal.
Permalink Reply by ola johansson on June 13, 2012 at 5:33pm I know there is no proof that its gonna fix everything, but diabetes type 1 they say you can't heal away. so I was thinking if I find someone how did heal their diabetes type 1 she would get more hopeful.
Then she would at least believe she had some chance to fix it.
because right now her diabetes just getting worse!

The movie shows cases of people:
all diabetes II reverse totally, and the case of diabetes 1 got high improvements even though the guy did not follow strictly the program, this is very encouraging,
find the movie here: http://www.rawfor30days.com/
Diabetes is quite critical so be sure to keep a good follow up by a competent (and open minded) health personal if you try self "medication".
It might be worth sending your mother there (birthday present etc...):

Permalink Reply by celina stamboli rodriguez on June 13, 2012 at 11:50pm My mother is in the same situation. She is not vegan, and keeps eating cakes and all that stuff that she shouldn't (though not so often, she'd better stop). When I say her eat some fruit, she says this is sugar I can't. Finally I have convinced her to give a shut to LFRV (if she doesn't change her mind again). I gave her couple of long discourses on diabetes and some other illnesses like arthiritis, cancer, cardiovascular problems (she has all of these by the way), based on what I have read in Doug Graham's book. I really recommend you to do so because it's really wrtitten on common sense so she will start taking this diet (I prefer saying life style) more serious.
Don't give her up !! You can convince her :)
Good luck !

I said to her that some people reversed there type 1 d.
she even sounded hopeful and will read the books and articles.
she will at least start to drink citrus fruit with fat meals, do it helps the digestion.
so its nice to have some progress already.
thanks for your support good luck with your mom as well!
I agree lifestyle sounds a lot nicer and serious than diet.

Permalink Reply by Alexandre Gauthier on June 14, 2012 at 3:48pm fruits digest super fast so the glucose is available super fast in the blood stream.
When I was eating slow digesting breakfast like toast, I use to give my insulin at the time I was starting to eat my breakfast and it works okay.
But now that I eat 10 bananas for breakfast I have to give my insulin shot 10 minutes before I start to eat because if I don't the bananas will digest faster than my insulin start to act.
So my blood sugar rise and I tell myself oh no I haven't give a big enough shot, so I shoot more insulin and than after 30 minutes Big Crash my level is too low. ( Yeah I always eyeball my glucose to insulin proportion)
And than I eat more bananas to make it rises a little :)
Permalink Reply by Alexandre Gauthier on June 14, 2012 at 4:00pm I want to say that I suffer from huge muscle cramps and muscle tension and stiffness and articulations weakness since I am diabetics.
and maybe an undiagnosed fibromialgya...
Since I'm on HCRV it seems like my muscles pain is going away slowly, I feel better in my skin, more relax physically, more flexible.
It's really positive for me cause I've been struggling with that for a longtime trying to stretch a lot but it hasn't improved.
Thanks
Alex
And sorry for mad bad english
Permalink Reply by ola johansson on June 15, 2012 at 5:30pm thanks for the tips alex, then she will know how to change her insulin as she changes her diet.
it's nice to her it's working for you. I sure it will go away completely in the future, good luck!
since I've been on this diet I also become more relaxed, and flexible and stronger I think.
