If you haven't been doing this very long, it can be difficult to prepare yourself for eating large enough meals so you don't have to eat so often.

Sometimes I eat up to 5 times a day, but usually I only eat 3 times a day.  I do that by making sure my meals are completely filling which can be difficult to tell at first.  For awhile I would think 500 calories a meal was a lot and I would think I was full, then I'd be hungry again not long afterwards.  Once I tried eating 1000cals a meal, I started to notice that at about 500 cals I would start to "feel full" but if I continued eating I felt great.  If I stopped at about that 500 cal point I would feel full for a few minutes, but I came to recognize that feeling as the half-way point.  Not truly fullness, some strange illusion probably related to actual digestion and not hunger.

i usually graze throughout the day. Whenever i feel like it, but i make sure i've drunken atleast a bottle of water when i wake up and another before i sleep, and hopefully one more inbetween.

You will get used to it as time goes on. Your stomach is simply not used to the volume yet.

It was hard to eat enough when I first started, but it's very easy for me now to eat 1000 calories in a meal, even if it's cantaloupe.

thanks everyone.. yeah i am just starting out. that what i was thinking about my stomach i'll just give it some time :)

I keep hearing "get your calories in early" I'm lucky that being a big eater I can get down 20 bananas in a smoothie for breakfast and the same for lunch, then a big salad at night (I put half the lettuce in my morning smoothie otherwise I couldn't get through it).If I don"t get the calories in early I start to get a bit panicky, i think its food addictions or something I tend to fall off the wagon.

If you find it hard to get the calories in eat higher sugar content fruit and as much high water fruit as you can.

I usually eat a lot of dates, raisins and bananas. if i eat to much acidic fruit i get stomach pain and can't eat so much. especially apples, usually eat 3-6 times a day depends on how active I am and the higher sugar content food usually less meals.

good luck!
