The “blood type diet” theory has gained widespread attention from the public since the release of “Eat Right For  Your Type” by Peter J. D’Adamo, N. D. (G. P. Putnam’s Sons, New York, 1996). The book's basic premise - that Type O's are the dominant, hunter-caveman type that require meat in the diet, that Type A's are docile vegetarians, while Type B's are dairy-eating omnivores - has become a manifesto for many people to rationalize including regular portions of meat and other animal products in their diet.  ("After all, my ancestors did it.")  However, the "blood type diet" theory, and the book that promotes it, presents many problems that prevent me from seriously basing any of my dietary choices upon them

O

Id put 10 000$ on it I could kick D'Adamo in a physical expression of energy like lifting x amount of weight in 2 minutes or covering x amount of miles in a week.

I'd put a $100,000 on it.

Me, I'm an O and also think this is BS! I thrive on HCRV!

Just another irrational fad. No reason to believe that within the same species, with the same intestines, brains, cells and teeth (herbivore/frugivore teeth) and everything, we would be meant to eat such radically different diets. If an animal is meant to eat meat they have the body equipped for it, along with a killer instinct and an appetite for raw bloody carcass... and humans do not... basic common sense really. :)

I think this idea is as wide-spread as it is because meat eaters want to feel more comfortable with the choices they make and hold onto any kind of excuse there is, because "someone who wrote a book once said so".

I'm O, vegetarian for 3 years, and I'm still alive ! Something's wrong, isn't it ? Neah, vegans make the world go round !

I am O as well

I am O! :)

I think there is not a requirement for meat with any blood type.  Just the fact that there clearly are so man thriving vegetarians proves that wrong.  I feel like there is some truth to his study especially in the area of personality.  Also, his take on type A makes a lot of sense to me.  Supposedly type A started agriculture so they can thrive on a diet of grains and such.  This certainly is true for me seen as I'm type A and have no problems eating cooked starches whereas others seem to struggle with them.
