30 Bananas a Day!

How long has anyone made it on banana island and is it hard?

I went out of the country this month and ate a lot of cooked vegan food and feel disgusting. I want to release all the toxins and water weight I gained. Would going on banana island do the trick? How long should I be there?

Dr. D often puts people on banana island as their introduction to 811, it cuts the cravings cause your not thinking about what you feel like eating next.  You'll probably want to drink more water, just make sure you are peeing at least 8-12 times daily with vigor.  Dr. D says not to eat just one type of fruit for more than 6 months at a time.  We store sufficient nutrients that we need so this length isn't a problem, it's why going without greens for a while isn't a problem either.  You can do 2 fruit island, it's not as cleansing but make sure the fruits are good combos.  For instance orange and banana are a terrible combo.  Also make sure you keep your calories up on the island.

Let us know how it goes. :)

Most of my diet is bananas.  I estimate that I have eaten about 3,400 bananas in the last two years, and I'm feeling better in ways that I never have before  : )  Go for the health, as Dr. Doug would say.

So glad I saw this thread, because I asked the question on the 80/10/10 page on FB and all were saying don't do it, what will you gain etc etc. I know from Dr DG's book and vids I've seen from Freelee and Megan that they have done it, so not sure why others are against it. 30 days, just banana's, what's the big deal!!!

Bananas, in my experience actually live me feeling lethargic. For me the best mono-meal is any sweet and juicy fruit like mango, warermelon, orange juice, etc. I would say that watermelon are very cleansing.

I think I might try this as well.

My wife and I are going on banana island starting this Monday. We're planning on doing it for just 7 days though.

I was intolerant to nightshades, citrus fruits, and even bananas were making my skin break out. Still, I went on banana island for 3 weeks and at the end of it could eat all those things without any problems!

In all honesty I found it pretty easy most of the time. I did start to get a bit sick of bananas towards the end, but I felt great health and energy wise all the way through the process.

I'd say go for it, and do it for as long as you fancy, from 7 days up to 30 days or so. ( I planned a month but cravings for citrus overtook me at the end of week 3 ;-D ).

I did 27 days on BI once. Another time I was shooting for 30, but only lasted 16 days because I wasn't organized enough, and when it became tough to get relatively ripe bananas in the market, I ran out of ripe bananas... After a day or two of eating bananas that tasted like cardboard i threw in the towel...

So that's the trick... both to 80/10/10 and BI... be organized and be sure the have lots bananas ripening so that you always have lots of ripe bananas ready to eat. Buy bananas today to eat in 3 days or so.  Don't depend on ripe bananas being available in the store that you can eat today, because often it's not available.
