I was wondering how long it takes to digest a fruit meal, say a mono meal.
The reason im asking is because i dont want to drink water to early after my meal. I know some people talk about 2-3 hours but does that count with fruit aswell?
I like to workout 30-60 minutes after a meal of 4-500 calories but i also love to drink water during that time so i want to make sure i dont upset my stomach doing so if i drink to early.
Also after my workout i drink water till the end, so then ill have to wait 30 minutes+ before i can eat but i want to eat right away :) How do you guys do it ? do you wait 30+ minutes after last zip of water before you start eating after a workout

High water content fruits digest quicker then low water content fruits with melon being the fastest digesting.
I think I recall Dr. Graham saying 30-60 minutes is all you'd need to wait before drinking water WITH the variable being the AMOUNT of fruit you've eaten to determine length of waiting time. If it's a small meal, there really aren't many concerns, just a couple of minutes is all. You can tell by how your stomach feels. If you have felt it empty, go ahead and drink some water.
I also remember him saying that it is beneficial to blend your fruits with water. So, if you're concerned about water drinking during your workout, why not have the first liter or so blended with your fruit prior to your workout?
Just curious: Do you have digestive issues in which you have to be this precise with water drinking?
It's really usually not a big deal. Marathoners eat and drink throughout a marathon without much ado. I'd advise you to relax, eat some fruit, wait a short while and then start your workout. Drink as your thirst dictates. And Enjoy!
Nah i dont like blending my food, tastes so much better when eaten mono :)
I dont have digestive issues but i dont want to bring em in eather because i drink so much water to get ridd of my water retention
Its gonna be different for different people and depending on how hard the session is and how much sleep etc we have had before.
BEFORE: I can go ride easy up big mountains on a full belly of 20 bananas and a quart of water BUT if I were do some some 15min all out efforts up the mountains then I would need to wait at least 4-5 hours after eating before I would be smashing it.
I can go run 10km in 45mins with a belly full of bananas but to run sub 36m for 10k, I only have a glass of water and a quarter of an orange at 7am for an 8am race start.
AFTER: I drink a quart of water and that takes 5-10mins and then straight away I chow down at least 500cals of fruit and then 30mins or so later start a 1000-3000cal fruit meal.
Mixing water with food aint a big deal BUT for best results, drink before you eat so your body has some clean water for waters sake vs having to filter out all the fruit pulp and nutrients before your brain/cells/skin etc can use that water.
