30 Bananas a Day!

Greens are probably more important to health than most people realize. The equivalent of a head of lettuce per day is a good guide. How do you get your greens in? I used to eat a big salad as my last meal but now im experimenting by adding greens to each of my 3 main fruit meals.

To my knowledge, leafy greens combine well with everything!

i get heads of lettuce and squish dates between leaves and fold up layers and make a date sandwich. Nothing better!

Or blend oranges and spinach. Or drench kale in mango, my god!

I blend most of mine with orange juice. My son loves it too, and no one (including a bunch of run-of-the-mill SAD eaters) has disliked it. Tastes like OJ, as long as you don't put in too much greens.

 

More seldom, I have a BIG salad with lots of sweet greens (lamb's lettuce, spinach etc.) and one type of juicy fruit. I like mango a lot, and will typically have loads of fruit in the salad.

I make a lot of blended salads/raw soups for dinner, I just throw a bunch of veggies and non-sweet fruits in the blender and blend them up.. the base is usually tomatoes/cucumbers/celery and I add whatever greens I have on hand like lettuce, spinach, kale, peppers, etc. Fine chop some mild herbs like parsley/dill/cilantro and some other veggies to top it off for texture and crunch..

 

It's an easy way to get in 2-3 pounds of veggies!

I usually put some collards or kale into my morning banana smoothie--if I put in too much then I have to balance it out with one or two dates if I actually don't have enough ripe bananas :(  . If I have fresh bok choy in the garden I will eat some of that as I pick it.

Then at dinner I eat a head of romaine, either in a salad or by itself. My body feels it so important to have enough greens each day and I could probably benefit from even more.

i have a large leafy green salad for dinner,i use to have green smoothies,but i find mono fruit meals easier on my digestion.At times i will make myself green juice,my body tells me when i need more greens.
