Hey all,
Just wanted to vent somewhere about the way society's going - in London anyway. I bought a flat from a housing association, discovered it had been really badly built and was leaking everywhere, was ignored by the association, and then when I took it to their regulator, feel I was treated just appallingly.
I'm frustrated by the fact that when your life is spent in fight mode, as mine has been, it's very hard to "grow" as it were. Or be creative, or basically do any good in the world. I'm wondering how to fight back against this kind of endemic lack of care humans, or rather the processes that modernity envelopes them in, extend to others.
Here's m'video. It's the only thing I could think of to fight back against a regulator who, as I see it is there for show, to make people believe the UK's housing associations are regulated - but really it's surely a body that acts in their interest. My hope is that when people google "Housing Ombudsman", they'll find this, and know not to waste their time. Perhaps in the future, it'll be shut down...I hope so...it is a chronic waste of life!

If you've got any ideas about how to stand up for yourself against authorities whilst not falling into the "what you resist persist" trap - let me know. xx

I think this might be a way to pay back debt fast for me once studies are done:
Yeah man, I know what you mean. It's weird how a few years ago, I wouldn't have dreamed of doing something that "extreme" but as time goes on, you kind of get the feeling that it's the only way of living a near natural life! x

there is no "what you resist persist". that's just a excuse that got distorted from eastern wisdom of 'non-attachment' (buddhism, hinduism etc).
fighting-mode is good. however, you don't have to get all worked up about the result. when you crush a brick from the wall of bureaucracy and injustice, you may not take the entire obscenity down, but you'll have made a good effort in the deconstruction.
what's important is to make your contribution.
in friendship,

"The true system, the real system, is our present construction of systematic thought itself, rationality itself, and if a factory is torn down but the rationality which produced it is left standing, then that rationality will simply produce another factory. If a revolution destroys a systematic government, but the systematic patterns of thought that produced that government are left intact, then those patterns will repeat themselves in the succeeding government. There’s so much talk about the system. And so little understanding"
