Yup, BB my tummy is my annoying area!!! I wanna lose it, for good!!! It's like I still haven't figured out the secret...I know, keep exercising and pushing myself.. but how much can I do before my back breaks? lol
Permalink Reply by Datiger on March 23, 2012 at 7:56am I don't know much about working out, but when I eat and workout in the morning, I get that feel of not being sluggish through out the day and it feels like my whole body is kind of jump start. My metabolism goes up and I could eat a lot and not gain, also even when sitting around, there's just a feel that I feel when I know my body is assimilating all the nutrients. It's been tough for me to feel that way, but when I do feel it, it's amazing and I feel healthier.
Other times when I've gained weight was when I stayed up late while eating a ton, like eating a ton of chips w/hummus or guzzling nut butters while watching YouTube videos or movies.

Member, Sunshine, says he sometimes has 9000 cals and I don't think he's an ultra endurance athlete... hmm
Permalink Reply by Sunshine on March 25, 2012 at 2:11am That day i eat more than ever mainly because i eat the coconut meats , and yea working building fence on the Orchid is no joke i put in 187 fence posts and 76 2" radius 11' tall poles.
Permalink Reply by PureTruth on March 24, 2012 at 11:03pm Does anyone here have the actual science behind why you don't get fat eating 3000 cals a day?
I need to still lose about 20lbs of fat. I'm 6'1" 190lbs now but I still have a little bit of man boobs (LOL) and a gut. I want this off me ASAP!!!
I'm definitely scared if I eat 3000 cals a day I won't lose the weight. If I heard the science behind the claim, then I'd feel a lot better. Can anyone help me out on this one? How come the extra cals from carbs isn't stored as fat? How do I know if my glycogen stores are filled? HELP!! :D
Permalink Reply by Rebecca Banana on March 24, 2012 at 11:27pm I'm with you, PureTruth. Harley mentions dietary thermogenesis a lot, but I haven't heard him explain the process. Perhaps he will do this in his upcoming book, but until then, it would be great to read a scientific article with the answers. I have searched, but cannot find an article explaining why carb-rich diets in particular aid weight loss through dietary thermogenesis.
Can anybody link to one?
Cheers :)
Permalink Reply by PureTruth on March 24, 2012 at 11:37pm Yea I've heard him say that too, but I looked it up and couldn't really find anything. I asked on another forum what the process was and they said dietary thermogenesis would not burn off ALL the extra carbs, just a small fraction.
So yea I'm still not comfortable eating all this food until I see some actual scientific proof. I'm not bashing the high cal intake for people at their healthy weight since it definitely gives them the energy they need to be healthy and active and live well, but should it be the same for people trying to lose fat? I'm not so sure.
Someone help us out on this! Any replies would be greatly appreciated :D
Peace
