Hey, everyone! I joined 30BaD about a month ago but never properly introduced myself (I do have a history of lurking).
I live in Tucson and have tried a raw lifestyle a couple of times in the past, but never high carb. I've had what might be described as a "rough start" to LFRV but I don't see it that way. In the past when I'd try some new diet or lifestyle, I would easily slip and then snowball down a cliff. I've found so far that since I've started LFRV, it is very easy to hop back on the wagon! We had company in town this past week and I decided ahead of time that I wasn't going to go spartan on myself because of the stress I put my family (and then myself) through when it comes to what I'm eating or not at the time. In essence, I ate SAD foods one meal a day for about five days.
Anyway, my point is not that I plan to eat SAD whenever I want, but that LCRV has been the easiest for me to stick to. I ate pasta one night and the next morning had no trouble getting back on track and having an 8 banana smoothie.
By the way - Yes! I felt pretty bad after eating these foods. I'm just glad I didn't start craving more of them after eating them.
I'm loving 30BaD so far. The community is very supportive of a 100% LFRV lifestyle. This can be a bit intimidating but also very motivating! I'm still eating some cooked carbs but look forward to feasting on huge salads, mango, pineapple and all the other yummy produce once I have some income.
I'm hoping to make friends here and become a part of this community because I don't have anyone in my life right now who is living a similar lifestyle and is after optimum health.
Thanks for sharing your path. If we can help in any way, just let us know.
We have a nice 811 community here in Phoenix too, stay in touch and if you're ever in the area, let us know. We try to do things often and during most of the year except for the summers, Megan and Joey host fruit parties too.
sounds like you are on the right path!
hey down there
