Just came back from my Red Cross blood donation and my Hemoglobin was 17.9. That's the very high end of normal. It's usually around 17. So I'm getting a bunch of iron from this diet. After giving a pint of blood it will drop to about 16.5gm/dl and climb up some again.
Raw fruits and Vegetables have plenty of absorbable iron.
The normal range of hemoglobin in male is 13.5 to 18gm/dl
BTW: Giving blood is a free way to get some blood tests and besides blood pressure, temp, clotting, pulse and Hemoglobin for proper iron levels they also draw 6 vials of blood and test them each time you go in. Giving blood regularly helps remove toxic metals from your body like lead and mercury.
Let's not forget that it also saves lives.
