I'm so blessed to be on Maui right now! Yesterday, I went to the supermarket to get fruit, and it cost me 73 dollars for two pineapples, a head of lettuce, 2 honeydews and a biggish watermelon!! NON-organic
when I was in Maui I went to the healthfood store in Pahia on the main street and the sugar can juice stand near the waterfalls just outside of Pahia. there were also fruitstands on the side of the road. bananas were always cheap and out of this world!
When I was there I just found the little farmer type roadside markets and didn't need the supermarket. Just ask any hotel, gas station, convenient store, etc. about one or get a newspaper. They set out only at certain times for some of them though. Good luck and I'm jealous. :O)
Aloha Happy Hanni, you cant go to the conventional grocery stores here. Remember I told you about Mana Foods in Paia, on the north shore. My good bro and fellow 811er is the produce manager there. Thats were the deals are. Otherwise I go to the farmers markets or staight to the farmers. There is a great farmers market on sat. morning upcountry on the way to Kula back behind the Longs drug store. Where are you staying?
