I made my mother watch Forks over knives and she is interested in trying out a plant based diet. thou in my country, no one advocates this and there is no one pretty much to turn to. All around us, are large hawker centres with foods that are cooked and are readily available 24hrs a day.
She wants to try this plant based diet and reverse her diabetes and cholesterol numbers.
I came here to seek your kind advice on where to go and what can i get her to start eating.
It would be good to have a good balance of fruits and diets.
hope some kind people can share with me what i can help both my mother and myself.
thanks so much.

Permalink Reply by elena on November 12, 2011 at 7:00pm my mother changed to plant based diet 1 year ago after watching "Earthlings". But she didnt know what to cook ?? :) so, I started to cook for her , even now ocasionally I cook for her. ( she is not raw vegan, but she'd like to be, may be one day... ;) But I'm so glad about her, I know it was not easy for her to get used to this diet at the beginning she had a lot of cravings. Sometimes she is half "raw vegan" as I call it,:) coz she likes very much eating melons and watermelons, also bananas . So, let your mother be patient while trying a plant based diet.
