I have been quickly combing through the forums and did find some helpful hints.
Eating smaller portions many times through out the day was a big helpful one.
However I am still feeling bloated... I a lot of banana smoothies, I add juice and some fruits. Should I add some water to these? I am not over stuffing myself but having the smoothies to the point where I can feel full but I get that bloated heavy feeling rather quickly. I want to make sure I get enough in my system so I don't feel sick at the gym or in general.
I also snack on veggies throughout the day
Before starting this diet I was feeling very sluggish, I normally ate a lot of whole grains, oats, veggies, but with lots of additives, this past holiday season I went overboard and ate everything and a lot of butter which I normally do not do and the past two weeks I started eating a lot of pasta and just not good foods. So basically I was eating all bad stuff for a t least 3 months. I didn't have much energy. I am hoping to change my ways with this diet and get the energy and feeling good.. but this bloating stinks lol.
I know I have to give my body some times to get used to this, but why and how can I help ease it?

don't rush, to stuff-- its not a race!
chew thoroughly even with smoothies!
eat foods that are fresh and RIPE! 99% of people do not eat fruit ripe, it is an ART.
lastly do some proper food combining, this is an Art too.
Food combining can make or break your absorption and Digestion
general rule of thumbs keep your meals simple and no more than 4 types of food in a meal ideally just one type of fruit aka mono meal.
if you do your smoothies right you wont need to add juice, you can though add a little water for instance 10 bananas a 2/3 cup of water and some spinach and blueberries, this is simple, but you could get simpler check out the Banana Island posts...
Permalink Reply by Ti Ti Sun on February 11, 2012 at 7:00am Thanks Raw Zombie!! I will take all that into consideration, sometimes I don't have completely ripen fruit and will just eat what I have which is usually a banana with a little green still. And I do inhale my smoothies! lol I will stop doing that! When I don't add water and or juice to my smothies I find them to be a bit hard to swallow it's too thick for me.. But I only have a food processor so I put it in there... But perhaps it's because they aren't fully ripe... So many new things to keep in mind!! Thank you! And I will look up Banana Island!
Permalink Reply by Raw Zombie on February 11, 2012 at 3:39pm no problem and unripe bananas will cause stomach aches and bloating they are NOT ready to be digested its a common problem most people dont know how to tell a ripe banana we were all there at some point, usually the average persons digestion is so out of wack that one banana wont stop the show but if they ate more than one greenish they would be bloating seriously , I can only encourage you to take the time read and persist it works give it time learn the tricks and avoid the common mistakes, and you will feel amazing.
use the principles of food combining and you wont have a problem. you may however experience some bloating etc as your body detoxifies and becomes accustom to its natural diet. the fit for life diet explains food combining very thoroughly. use the info in that book and apply it to the 80/10/10 diet when combining
Permalink Reply by dangermouse on February 11, 2012 at 7:26am Snacking on veg throughout the day might not be helping. Those take longer to digest than fruit, so you might be getting some bad food combining happening. It might be a good idea to stick to fruit and eat your veg in the evening. MAke sure you're drinking a few litres of water a day, as that will help with digestion. It also just takes a while to adjust.
Permalink Reply by Leeeeeeena on February 11, 2012 at 8:09am Are you drinking at least one litre (~1 quart) of water upon rising every single morning? And then more throughout the day. This alone has done miracles for me. So, so simple, yet so effective.
Permalink Reply by Ti Ti Sun on February 11, 2012 at 9:01am Will change the veggies to dinner time! :) And since changing my diet I have start to drink less water but A LOT of juice, I will return to drinking lots of water when I wake up! Since the inhaling of my smoothies I was forgetting about water. I JUST noticed my stomach is making a lot of noises and I'm gassier than normal lol but I just looked it up to find that bloating and gassy ness is a normal effect that happens when switching over.. MY tummy is is rumbling lol!
Permalink Reply by oxabbsxo on February 11, 2012 at 11:16pm that's a good idea, and pay attention to food combining too.

i was getting so much gas / bloating / extreme pain in the beginning before i realized you should NEVER eat melons with bananas, for example. cleared my problems right up:)
mono meals are best for digestion.
Permalink Reply by DURIANRIDER on February 11, 2012 at 4:01pm Go to bed like buddha, wake up like ghandi. If your not feeling really full at the end of the day/end of the meal, your simply not eating enough. I know watching Mike Arnstein eat his evening meal he would look like he was about to explode lol! Then in the morning he was deflated and back to start again. Thats how natural is. Small in the morning, pumped at night. The sooner people accept that, the sooner they can start getting fitter and stronger.
We shoot most of our vids with food in our stomach otherwise we just look too lean.
Most peoples definition of 'fat/bloated' is VERY individual though lol!
This person said they felt 'like 200lbs!!!' lol!
